Dex has arrived at the party early, because Roni passed his two-seater Bentley on the way in. He just happens to be standing near the ladies' room when Roni leaves and bumps into him, knocking herself off her feet, whereby he catches her, and then keeps hold of her. An acquaintance of his presses for an introduction; Roni only managed to get the first part of her name out, "Rav ... "; Dex replies that, no, he's not going to introduce them and steers Roni outdoors. He carts her outside after another tripping episode, sits her gently onto a bench, removes her shoes and massages both her feet. They argue, he calls her by her pseudo name "Raven" though she never fully introduced herself as such, threatens to tell her grandmother on her unless she (he doesn't get to finish as they are interrupted), but in his mind, he has already decided to 'employ' her with a very large offer, and maneuvers to drive her home. He also happens to know exactly where Roni lives as he deposits her directly to her door.This is my second go through of this series, as I am presently tapping my toes at the end of Volume Twelve.My observation is, I think the "good doctor" (not quite so good ... ) is head-over-heels smitten with Roni, and has been keeping tabs on her. Which makes me question why he does what he does to her in Volume Eleven. It's a WTF volume.Another question is, if he has a beautiful wife as shown in the personal, adoring photos on his desk, why Roni? Seriously.

Yes, it's him AGAIN. He stops her from falling and when one of his friends comes up and wants an introduction, he takes both her hands and kisses her knuckles and when she goes to give her name he cuts her off and says NO, and says they're going outside for air. On their trip out, she stumbles again and he catches her and just picks her up and carries her.As they get out of sight from everyone, there's a confrontation between Dr. Frost and Roni/Raven. Every time she goes to walk away, he pulls her back. Finally after a few rough verbal exchanges she walks away but he comes after her again and agrees to take her home. When he pulls up to her apartment she realizes she never told him where she lives. He picked her up out of the car and sat her on the porch and told her he was concerned for her because she's Danny's sister, she told him not to worry and he drove off.In the morning her boss shows up with an offer, an offer from HIM...

We FINALLY get to see Frost up close and personal, for more than one scene!! Roni is auditioning for the escort service job at a multi-millionaire's party, she happens to meet the elusive Doctor Frost there. Boy, do sparks fly off the pages (computer screen) between these two! When Roni gets an unlikely offer that will most definitely help her financial situation, will she have the guts to agree or the respect to say no?I was super excited to finally see Dexter Frost and Roni interact for an extended period of time! While the good Doctor is infuriating and arrogant he seems to have an aura about him that draws people to him. I am most definitely looking forward to see how the dynamic between these two develops in the coming installments!

So far this one is my favorite. Wow the sexual tension is dripping off the pages and nothing has even happen yet. Talk about build up, Eme Strife is doing a fabulous job at keeping the readers hooked to this story.First night on her new job has left Ramona stumbling and falling. Her blue eye protector seems to be everywhere she happens to be lately but what does he want? This episode allows us to really see the back and forth between Dexter and Ramona in a very convoluted way. What is his motive for wanting to be with her and how can she ever get her body to stop reacting to him when her head is screaming at her to run the other way.When a contract lands in her hands from Mindy, the boss at her new job, she is given the chance to pay off those debts quickly but is she willing to pay the price of accepting it, because we can guess who the offer is from. When the confrontation happens Dexter gives her 30 days to make her decision or he is going to do the very thing she begged him not to. It is time for Ramona to make the choice……..I can hardly wait to dive into the next book.

And now the story is getting heated...Definitely getting into the core of this intriguing tale of Roni and Dr. Dexter Frost! Roni is vulnerable and desperate for a quick solution to her financial worries. She finds herself in a surreal and terrifying position, plunked into the world of the "rich and elite", which couldn't be further from her lived experience. Roni is exposed and scrutinized. And it seems Dr. Frost is there "to her rescue"...or does he have ulterior motives... His behaviors are akin to a sharp, slap in the face, and Roni is easily consumed with anger and disbelief. This is a side of Dr. Frost that we have yet to see... And yes we want more!! Who is this Dr. Frost and what secrets behold...The only criticism I have of the 4th Volume is that Roni's character is depicted as most immature and rather unlikable. Up to this point I was able to see past her youth, this go around it is beginning to irk me... Now onto the next one!
