Frustration alert in learning its use
Its a fun little drawing tool to use...It came with no instructions on how to use it but it was easy to search you tube for how to use videos (company does not tell you that as it comes in box with no paper instructions or anything else) ....I have discovered there is also a learning curve in figuring out its uses and capabilities. So you have to play with it for awhile to figure it out...(promo videos makes it look so simple)...The one thing about it that really does frustrate me about it is you are also supposed to be able to use it as sort of a protractor to make angles...but the degree lines are etched very faintly on the stainless steel part of the tool and next to impossible to see...( I asked a friend who works in jewelry if theres anything that can be done to make the etching on the tool more visible...unfortunately there is not) ...I would not reccommend this for a childs use as a drawing tool...nor would i reccommend it for anyone who has a low frustration tolerance level...I also dont think it work well for things that need "proffessional" draft drawings...but for just the recreational artist who just wants to creatively play it is a fun little thing once you get the hang of use...I will admit I had much higher hopes for its use..Hope this review helps

Interesting tool but not durable for more than desk use
It’s pocket sized but the black “legs” are harder than the chrome parts and will damage the chrome parts. The legs are painted black and the length marks are painted white so will wear fairly quickly unless treated carefully. Only about a month or so of use and the tips of the “legs” are showing wear and some paint is gone. The angle notations on the chrome parts are difficult to use as there’s no hold point and the legs are fat enough to take up about 10 or so degrees so it’s useful for sketching. Just don’t think you are going to be able to make use of it as a protractor. The angles notches are also just stickers or some form of surface printed method. They will rub off quickly under normal use.As a pen rest, it only works for one if one gently places it slowly and doesn’t pull on the pen.

Poor Quailty Workmanship; Misleading Ad; False Material Claims
A - Poor Quailty Workmanship1 - Parts don't fit together properly. Received with one of the center cylinders stuck in place (would not rotate), because the center shaft fit too tightly on the magnet section. Could not use this part at all.2 - Measurement units are not marked properly on the 'wings' - they do not reflect distance from the center, as you would expect with a compass.3 - Markings on edge of center cylinders are VERY hard to read.>B - Misleading Ad1 - The ad leads you to believe that the tool is MUCH bigger than it is. The images are clearly designed to mislead any prospective purchaser.>C - False Material Claims1 - They claimed that the center cylinders were stainless steel - they are not. It is some soft (and poorly cast) non-ferrous metal with a very cheap chrome plating added. Looks like copper/bronze? (??)2 - They claimed that the 'wings' were anodized aluminum - they are not. They are magnetic so contain some iron in there somewhere.

Photos make product appear larger than it is
This product is deceptively photographed — the use of composited photos at different zoom levels, combined with an overhead photo of a person hand-drawing an oversized version of the product (look closely — the person is DRAWING the product, not USING it) combine to create the impression this product is about 12 inches long. It is not — it is truly pocket-sized as claimed and does not fold out or otherwise become bigger when using. You cannot use this to draw anything bigger than several inches, and for that purpose it’s clunky and difficult to use compared to a basic student compass and a cheap plastic stencil. The need to have a magnet means you either have to use this on a metal drawing surface or tolerate your paper being lifted a quarter-inch off the table. If there’s a reasonably convenient way to use this thing, I can’t figure it out.The product description is technically accurate, but it feels very much like the seller is relying on people not reading carefully for a small gift product like this. This tool is not especially useful for serious artists. For an artistic child old enough to play with small metal parts (think of the beams on old-fashioned metal erector sets — that’s roughly the construction of this thing) this could make a fun toy for a while. I bought this for myself, but I’ll be keeping it in a drawer for some future gift basket.
