Rough but large and stackable, I love them
For reference, I bought two pair of the L & XL combo (so 4 total “caves”). I stacked and angled them to make a cave system. The tank shown is 75 gallons. These are made out of a sort of crushed granite pressed into a form and the surface reminds me of very rough, low grit sandpaper. This is NOT like your other hollow resin aquarium decor. I took 15-20 minutes to scrape and sand off their rougher spots… and to do a great job I could have spent a lot longer. Instead I put some sand in them so that when my fish lay in there and play dead (it’s a loach thing), they aren’t directly on the roughness. My young Clown Loaches and Zebra Loaches love their new hovels. As of May 2023, they L/XL combo are normally $40 per set, I paid $14 per set from the warehouse. Obviously I’m VERY thrilled, but I would be very annoyed with the roughness and extra TLC needed to make these safer if I had paid full price. In fact, that’s probably what got them returned by someone else before I bought them from the warehouse.

Before Purchasing
Alright so for me personally, these are great. At this of purchasing they're over half the cost of the same product at the Big Box Pet Stores, super heavy, large enough for my fish to use*, and the fish love 'em.(* dwarf cichlids, corydoras, plecos, and juvenile festivums. Any of the more streamline cichlids such as africans would absolutely fit in the standalone medium or larger. Anything bigger than a julie will probably not fit in the small/medium combo, and the small I use for a plant weight. Cute but useless.)That said, depending on what type of fish you have, this might not be the best choice. Something like a betta or fancy guppy with those long draping fins, I would look for something ceramic. Also depending on how willing you are to get a few scrapes while taking sandpaper to the openings and inside, same. These are very course, and if they scrape skin (these do) then it's rough enough to scrape the scales of an active fish. However with a few scraped knuckles and some course sandpaper I got them smooth enough in about ten, fifteen minutes tops.Worth it to me, personally, because these are sturdy and large enough for my corydoras to gather up in a little piles as they prefer to do, and the price is worth the effort of sanding.

My fish love it
I bought this mainly for my corydoras since it's a small hide. But it's my bristlenose pleco and giant betta that really love this hide. I wasn't expecting the bigger fish to like it too.

Ok, super rough.
The inside is way too rough for a Betta. I had to sand the inside smooth.

This large size is perfect for 4” to 5” African cichlids!
Lights up the small pond, or large aquarium….. decreases fights among aggressive fishes

Came on time in good condition (not broken)
Came on time in good condition (not broken).I really liked that these two rocks can be separated apart from one another or stacked fairly securely.Turned out I only needed the bigger of the two. The bigger of the two is about the size of a Sam's Club Rotisserie chicken bodyhahaha.. I mean.. it's a fish rock review, had to keep it interesting.A little rough in texture, had to sand it down a bit. Hence the 4 star. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise because the size is perfect and will most likely fit any size tank and most any average sized fish... except Betta ( it would be too rough for them )All my fat goldfish love it! A few of them even sleep in it at night.Side note: I also read that ominous one star review about this product killing someone's fish?Umm... No.This should not happen and I doubt this stone was the cause. Do be sure to rinse it thoroughly with cold water as one should do with any product prior to putting it in their tank. I even waited some time before leaving this review so that I could ensure that this product is not going to kill your fish in a week.

BE SAFE WITH PRODUCT
This rock is beautiful and exactly the size I expected. It is perfect for my Betta tank. However, just a warning to Betta owners. Be careful with placement of this product. Mine was butted up against the glass and unfortunately my Betta got wedged under it and suffocated. I know this was an accident on my part, but I obviously feel horrible. I have decided to get a 5-gallon tank to use this lovely rock in so that it can sit in the middle with plenty of room around it. This definitely was NO FAULT of the product, just be careful when using. :( RIP FIREBALL

Very happy with these!
Came super fast (thank you Prime) and in terrific shape. Got it for 1/2 price as "very good condition used" which only meant box had a little wear. The hides were very obviously pristine and unused. And the box pictured, with them just sitting on each other with open front...well Amazon super cushioned and super wrapped them within another box so they arrived just perfect! Im going to sand away the edges, as many others have suggested, but went in knowing that. When you know that in advance its more of a craft time labor of love, not so much a nuisance. Got the XL/Lg size and fits fine in my 10gal but will be even nicer in future 20gal. (I only have one betta so its not too cramped till then. And the openings are Plenty big enuf for him. After the sanding, inside and out, they're going to look pretty cool. Their sandy speckly look is really nice, and Im planning on gluing some java moss on them too. Im so sorry for the people who had a bad shipping experience, or who were suprised by the need for sanding. But I gotta say worth a try. Especially with Amazon's ease of return. May update with pics later.. if I can figure out how! 😊

Bonitas, pero no de muy buen terminado
Están un poco pesadas, son bonitas pero no vienen del todo acabadas, traen puntas que podrían lastimar a los peces, NO SON DE RESINA

Perfect for my very large cichlids
This is my second set. A bit rough on the inside but I figured natural rocks aren't always smooth either. Will take a scrubing brush to the inside to smooth it out a little. They love sleeping and hiding in there. Will likely order more. They are a bit grainy so scrubbing them clean is a must, however my algea eater is a champ and does a lot of the hard work.

Bigger than expected.
Definitely worth the money for how big this is. I paid $11.99. Craftsmanship not the best. I had to file the edges of the openings down otherwise fish may get injured. I used the file from a multi tool, it wasn’t hard.I had to clean it before putting it in my tank….2 rinses in a bucket of water in the laundry sink…done deal. Fish was using it within 5 minutes of placing. Tank is a Fluval spec 3 for reference purposes.

Very good product and very good price also it’s a name brand,
Good product, big for bigger fish. It’s very rough inside so that can scratch a fish, i suggest smooothing out first before putting it in the tank. This is my 3rd one. The last 2 I’ve had for about 2 years and are perfect.
