My cat loves this
My cat loves this, it might tastes better than other products by the same vendor. Recently, I was not able to find this anywhere. Not sure if it got discontinued and for what reason.

Mix it up! Drive them kitties CRAZY!
All of my kitties love a surprise, so I was excited to get them this new flavor of a favorite brand/style. It's a winner but the competition is stiff with Solid Gold Let's Stay In and Beyond Wild Turkey & Lentil with Freeze Dried Bites also in the lineup.

My cats were rather ho-hum about this food
I liked what I read about this food before trying it on my cats. I appreciate grain free cat food---cats do not need grain (although I don't think they need lentils, either) and I like a fish based food for them. I was a little surprised when first pouring it out how big the individual bits were. I'm used to higher end cat foods having small, soft-ish nuggets, but this looked more like regular old time dry cat food.My cats? They were okay with it. It got eaten at a fairly slow pace, but it got eaten. Believe me, I've given them the cat food of the rich and famous in the past and they wouldn't try a nibble, so I appreciate any food they will eat. But they weren't thrilled with it. One of my cats is a meow-er for food. If he really, really likes a meal, I get about half a day without begging. With this, I got a little begging-free time, but in an hour or so, he was looking at the dish and meowing again. I feed a colony of fixed strays also, and they were about like my indoor cats. The bowl got emptied, but slowly. The price of this food, in my eyes, is a bit high for something that looks and gets treated by cats as regular non-premium food, although I believe from the ingredients it's higher quality. I'm just not sure I'd pay premium for it.

What you really need to know
I've stopped buying cat food from no-name companies regardless of their lofty claims. Cat food is a multi-billion dollar industry and there are hundreds of fly by night companies buying what's literally garbage (rotting animal and fish carcasses) from China and Indonesia and repacking it with enticing names and labels as premium or natural or healthy. When you open the bag the product is moldy and your cats immediately throw it up.TRUSTING THE BRANDPurina is a brand I trust and this cat food's label supports it being a premium product in many ways. While it still lacks the all-important carbohydrate content information that most brands refuse to divulge, it does list calories.A calorie is a unit of energy, and it is used to show how much energy an item of food contains. A carbohydrate is an organic compound made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, and “carbs” typically refers to food rich in starch or sugar which is the worst thing you can feed your cat, which is why dry cat foods should be used judiciously or not at all (and why canned foods with "gravy" are so bad for your cat). Carbs always contain calories (4 per gram), but calories do not necessarily indicate carbs.HOW DOES IT TASTEIf a cat is hungry it will eat almost anything, and if it doesn't feel like eating that doesn't mean the food doesn't taste good, it simply means the cat chooses not to eat. It's useless to read about what someone else's cat "likes", that has zero to do with YOUR cat. And it has zero to do with the quality of the product - awarding one-star to a food because someone's cat wasn't hungry is a waste of a review. So for the record my cats ate it and didn't throw up but that fact didn't affect my rating. I gave it positive kudos because of the ingredients list and mostly honest product labeling. And because for a higher quality product it has a reasonable price tag.

Purina Beyond Grain Free Icelandic Char
My cat came into my room to remind me about his dinner. He is a 20+lb Himalayan who never misses a meal! He found this bag of Beyond (I had accidentally put a small cut in the bag when cutting through the taped box) and he decided his wet food could wait. He literally would not leave the bag even after I made his dish of canned food and called him. I finally gave up and grabbed the new bag. He followed me to the kitchen and ignored his wet food while I poured him a bowl of the Beyond. He inhaled this bowl of food, once done he still ignored the wet food and tried to talk me into giving him more. He gets wet food twice per day and small amounts of dry food throughout the day, if I put Beyond out at the same time as his wet he completely ignores the wet food. That sounds like a rave review from a cat who normally only eats dry food because he can't reach the canned on his own. We will be buying more of this Purina Beyond and trying their other flavors too.

Tabbi Approved, 2 months worth in a 5 pound bag
My cat loves it and tells at me for it when its feeding time. He's 5 months old and eats 1 cup of it a day (I break up it up into 1/4 cup servings)So, this 5 pound bag has lasted me a little over 2 months. It smells good and remains fresh all day.
