Death of Wolverine: The Weapon X Program

The Weapon X Program gets it right!!
Having now read Death Of Wolverine, Death Of Wolverine - The Logan Legacy & finally Death Of Wolverine - The Weapon X Program, I can say that IMHO, The Weapon X Program is the best of the 3.....by a wide margin. This was just a very fun & enagaging read. The Character development of the new Weapon X victims is great! Also, the narrative is so much better here than in the other 2 "Death Of Wolverine" books. The story flows effortlessly & it never feels like Soule is trying too hard or forcing anything. Also, the artwork is pretty awesome too. In my opinion, the main Death Of Wolverine book just missed the mark in many regards. & I felt that The Logan Legacy was forced & did not flow too well as a narrative. The Weapon X Program, on the other hand, got it just right. Great balance of sponteneity, narrative, art & originality. I highly recommend this book. Especially to those who already invested time & money into this storyline.

A Team of Weapon X Experiments Fight for Their Lives
Collecting: Death of Wolverine: Weapon X Program #1-5--Death of Wolverine: Life After Logan #1This book collects the first mini-series that spins out of the Death of Wolverine event. Wolverine was the apex predator, the best there was at what he did. Between heightened senses, healing factor, and metal laced bones, the shadowy agencies that built Wolverine perfected weapons technology. Wolverine was not the only experiment, however. The "Paradise" weapons facility was attempting to create another super-weapon on par with Wolverine. The issues collected here detail the desperate attempt of a group of failed "Paradise" experiments to escape from their creators. Each patient has been experimented upon and has gained a superhuman trait in the process. The ragtag team has to work together to avoid capture or death. The team consists of an interesting blend of powers: Skel has powerful strength, but begins to collapse in pain if he doesn't regularly pound somebody. Neuro's brain was enhanced, making him a human supercomputer. Junk's ancient DNA was activated, giving him a range of animalistic powers from gills to horns. Endo's has superspeed. And finally there's Sharp: his power is heightened tactical awareness, but he also seems to have flashes of what he believes are Logan's memories. This team was never intended to survive the "Paradise" facility. With time running out, their only hope is finding other Weapons X products: Sabertooth, Daken, and X-23. The next volume to read, Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy finds Victor, Daken, Laura Kinney and others in a predicament of their own!The story was good, even if I didn't find this team's cast compelling. Ogun's role in the group was the most interesting reveal of the book, and promises interesting developments. The One Shot "Life After Logan" was my favorite issue collected here. "Life After Logan" shows several X-Men paying tribute to Wolverine. Armor's grief was especially well written. The "Death of Wolverine" mini-series directly sets up the ongoing stories collected in Wolverines Volume 1: Dancing with the Devil

but I've read better.
Eh. It was okay. Worth buying if you're interested in the Death of Wolverine I suppose. It just introduces the lab rats at the end of DoW. I don't regret buying it, but I've read better.
