Both cords came with heat shrink connectors so I had to buy a heat gun to try it out, which came the next day, installation of the new cord was a breeze especially because of the heat shrink connectors!

They're not super high quality but they do the job. I had bought this hard wired pendant light that had a decent length cord, and I bought these clear replacement lamp cords with switches. I was able to connect one to my pendant light and BAM now I have a side lamp for my apartment. If I buy a home I can remove the cord and install the hardwired lamp. Cool.

A friend of mine had a lamp sitting on a credenza in her living room, but the toggle switch was broken from the cord side. I told her I would help fix her lamp, but was hesitant about doing it because I never had. After looking online and seeing how easy it was, I went on Amazon and found this. Amazingly easy to work with except for one thing.... it would’ve been great to have had a dot or a thin red line along the ridge of the wire to tell which side of the cord was the ridged side, and which side of the cord was the smooth side. Because it’s so small, it was hard to feel. Other than that it is working great and she didn’t have to buy a new lamp at all! Awesome!

I was worried about quality of this power cord after reading some reviews. Well, the quality is great, very sturdy and well made. I was able to re-wire 2 lamps, everything works, switches are compact and very comfortable to use.

Easy to connect, and seems good and sturdy. Easy "click" on/off, for those with a dexterity issues. I love having a reachable on/off switch for my bedside lamp. I hate having to disturb that "just right" comfy spot, when I realize I forgot to turn the light off. It takes forever to find it again. I also love that my clear glass lamp now has a clear cord and switch that matches it. By by old ugly brown one. The cord is a little shorter than I would have , but that's what extension cords are for. I'd buy this again. Can't beat the price, that's for sure.

The problem with these cords is that you can clearly tell that they are poorly made when inspecting them. The crimps in 3 out of the 6 that I ordered were bad in the plug, which is not promising for longevity and will cause the circuit to short.My recommendation is paying a little more for a UL listed cord (UL is an independent electrical certification entity that has set standards required to be met before they certify and list products) and skipping over this because in the long run you will end up having to replace these, that's if they even work at all when you get them.If your doing a fun little home project this might work for you, but if you're planning on using this to produce something to sell or need for quality, definitely find something else.I'm ordering my UL listed replacement tonight.
