I ordered these for my grandsons , what a great company! Any questions they answered! All of with them w/ the exception of one caterpillars 🐛 turn in to butterflies! , i took pics daily & plan on making a book for the boys . They named their caterpillars! 🐛 order the set with 5 & the set with 10 & we had 9 beautiful butterflies & had a beautiful release at a greenhouse. Great learning experience & priceless memories. And the journals for them were fabulous. I would order them again !

Amazing experience!
This was such an amazing experience. All caterpillars arrived alive and thrived exactly as the included directions stated they would. Everyday they got noticeably larger and I was just as excited to see them transform as my kids were! All 10 turned into butterflies! We kept them just for about 3 days after that due to heavy rain we had. They started mating the second day (they wasted no time!) We fed them fruit then released them at a nearby park where other butterflies were. I would 100% purchase again. Make sure your environment is the required temperature for these little guys as mentioned in the listing before you purchase or they may not survive! Thank you to the seller for offering this experience on Amazon! ❤️

Purchased again..
So I decided to give this another chance. Purchased in guaranteed warmer weather. No fluctuating weather and they arrived. They seemed still the first few days but they soon started to occasionally move about and eat. However this containment is NOT humane. I am not an avid bug farmer but I do known about animal conservation and this is a poor way to give back to the ecosystem. So problem number one the size of the cup is not good for five that it comes with.As they start to grow their cup is riddled with poop. It gets so bad they can't access the food under the mess. The instructions state not to open the cup beforehand so there should be cleaning instructions. Anyone who buys this should ignore the instructions and occasionally remove the poop or you will have starving pillars. I had this issue with one of mine it started to decay because of starvation to the point I took it out to try to revive its will to live. Eventually the containment started to grow mold and I knew this meant that disease had entered their containment unit and that one or possibly more of these butterflies are going to contain this disease. It means they are going to either die or survive and spread this illness to other butterflies once I release them. However the odds these infected butterflies live is minimal during the transfer process I noticed only a few out of each batch that I purchased had the defense mechanism twitch they should have during transfer process. I cleaned the silk threat, exoskeleton and they were completely still no function in them. As someone who knows about butterflies I know they twitch to ward off pray from eating them. So I have a feeling I'm going to have disintegrating virus goo soon and possibly more mold from the decay as these guys die off.All I can hope is the ones that were twitching actually pull through but at the same time releasing them into the wild is a death sentence for them and possibly the other bug population they come in contact with. Normally I wouldn't be a giant bug advocate but this is deplorable and very inhumane. You're sending five in a VERY small container and leaving them to hopefully eat enough that they cycle at the same time leaving them open to disease. You as a company need to provide PROPER containment over four times the size that is provided. Charge extra if you must but do not subject these creatures to starvation and disease because you want to skimp on some expenses for yourselves while you make more profit than you deserve.Animal conservation is a great thing. Teaching kids about the importance of even insect life is super important but this nonsense of subjecting even insects to disease and poor conditions I am almost ashamed I even participated in this process. These creatures deserve better, they deserve better instructions, better containment, more love and respect. They shouldn't be prone to disease because these containers are absolute garbage.

Fun learning experience!
We love this experience! This is the third year I’ve done this with my children and something we all look forward to. It always arrives in a timely manner, is well packaged, and we’ve always had a good turn out of butterflies. It’s a valuable learning tool for the price!

So cool!
I bought this to send to my son’s daycare so they could learn about the life cycle of caterpillars and butterflies. My only complaint is the arrival of the caterpillars. When I got home, the box was all smashed up, I took it inside and opened it only to find one of the plastic containers completely smashed and missing 4 of the caterpillars. I ended up having to clean everything out to find the caterpillars in the box, scattered. I found a container and was able to make the lid fit on it so we saved all of the caterpillars.Other than that, it was a great purchase. The kids absolutely loved watching this. They had a good amount of caterpillars turn into butterflies. It didn’t come with instructions on what to do but it was pretty easy to figure out. I did like the appearance, everything looked really nice.

Metamorphosis ~ What a Beautiful Sight!
What an amazing experience! Thank you for bringing this to the forefront of learning. All 10 Butterflies emerged🙏✨️💫❤️🔥. 4 on 4/14/25, 5 one 5/15/25 and the last one emerged on 4/16/25. So beautiful and can't wait to release them to the Universe and hopefully they go with all the other butterflies and enjoy our lilac bushes and garden flowers.I hope other people who decide to purchase and release the butterflies, just wait for them all to emerge. Remember every butterfly goes through their own metamorphosis at their own speed. Please don't rush them. Please be patient and don't throw them away!!!
