TOVE LO QUEEN OF THE CLOUDS (F)

Beautiful, Melodic, Female Empowerment Electronica from Swedish Singer Songwriter Tove Lo
Can not stop playing repeat on this cd. Of course I was Turned On to Tove Lo by her famous song Habits with the catchy chorus "I gotta stay high all the time To keep you off my mind." Reflects a double entendre of the vibe that makes Dance music and Electronica so very naughty.Other songs on the album show Tove Lo to be an amazing writer. She is also the force behind the massive hit from 50 Shades of grey which Ellie Goulding sang Love me Like You Do.Tove Lo's Swedish culture is a fresh of breath of air as a long time dance music / house lover have found the styles to be kind of stale. But her female strength is empowering and what keeps me coming back for more.Like 'em Young is a bit too creepy for my taste so I skip on that one. But Talking Body, Moments really show the artist at her writing best.Beautiful Melodic Pop if you are a fan of upbeat Electronica especially with female vocals, this cd is where it's at.

Tove Lo's Got High Highs & Stays There!
Listening to Queen of the Clouds by Tove Lo is like experiencing the rush of a night clubbing at a rave.Tove Lo is dreamy electronica pop music for people that love sexual encounters, drinking, partying, and more hedonistic lifestyle choices. She effortlessly blends the sweet feeling of deep love with someone that then leads to an emotional heartbreak all chronicled on this one album's concept. The album starts off slower, then takes off by Talking Body and just doesn't quit to the end.Queen of the Clouds is a haze of love and heartache. Tove Lo makes you break into an honest sweat of emotion and love it! Tove Lo is amazing.

Another goodie out of Sweden
Just as Broods and their debut album impressed on me, this first full-length album is surprisingly, consistently, tirelessly good. Not a comparison to Broods, stylistically, though. Tove is more like a cross between Robyn and Natasha Bedingfield. Catchy radio-worthy tracks; substantive, relatable lyrics. But she definitely has more of an edge than any of those forementioned. Interestingly, she's a Swede just as Robyn is.Two reasons I bought this album. Well, the main reason is I like showing my support of artists by actually paying for their music. But what stood out were how I never seem to tire of her break-out hit Habits, though it is seemed like the typical catchy tune that eventually turns annoying. Too real and personal, perhaps -- not that I would know if this sources from something real in her life. Second are the videos/interviews that reveal she's the real deal, stepping out of the shadows of writing for others, and stepping up and out alongside the rest of them. The edginess stems from her bringing sexuality into her music without it feeling gimmicky or put on for the sake of being provocative. Seeing her live performances reveals she just *is* sexy. And to see how she plays with the audience and camera so convincingly, I'm sold.My GunEpitomizes everything I like about this album/artist. Raw, simple lyrics, but suggestive of a complicated person behind them. Creatively mixed (love how she incorporates those sound effects so seamlessly). Super fun song. Best possible appetizer for what lies ahead.Of course the interludes... The actual first track demonstrates her unique way of thematically compartmentalizing her album into several "stages" of relationships -- for the ones of us who've experienced ones that begin and end, that is.Talking BodySexy, sexy, sexy track. Look online for any live performance of this one, and you'll throw in a fourth sexy in there. Not On DrugsHer album title's embedded in this one. On Spotify, we get a nice remix of it; typically, the most worthy songs get their encore with a remix or two and this is no exception.Got LoveLove the way the words of this one flow out of her. Love the flow of the track. Love the feel of it. Could only wish to have a real-life reason to relate with this material.Run On Love (Spotify for this one)Try not to notice how cute it is to hear an accent in the way she pronounces "while." Another super fun song.Thousand MilesAnother one that just feels good, despite being one of the forlorn tracks. These are just the tracks I can think of mentioning. I regularly listen to the album all the way through in my car on CD, and Spotify it at home or elsewhere. She was actually the reason I subscribed to a Spotify trial -- just had to be able to stream any one of those songs that might be in my head at any moment.

Enjoyed "Habits" and wasn't expecting much of an album, BUT...
I gave the album a preview and really enjoyed the overall sound, so I bought it for $5. Unfortunately for me, 3 days later it went on sale on XBOX Music Deals app (Windows Phone) for $1.99! It's ok though, I listened to the album about 10 times by then.Thankfully "Habits" was not the best track from the album, as others have pointed out. The best tracks are usually ones that the listener can relate with and this album hits on that level. Right now, in no particular order, my top 5 tracks are: Talking Body, The Way That I Am, Not On Drugs, This Time Around, and Habits.

Snappy Header That Relays My Enjoyment of This Album
I first heard Tove Lo on the radio a few weeks ago, her song "Habits" getting stuck in my head and not getting out. I saw her album, Queen of the Clouds, and figured it was worth a blind buy, and I was right. You can hear the deep resonant emotion in her voice as she tells a story about love gone wrong, and it's just so well done that I have to say it's some of the best modern music I've heard in a long time. Well produced, with haunting vocals, I can't recommend this enough to anyone looking for new, relevant music from talented artists.

Sensual and excellent.
This has quickly become one of my favorite albums. It's very sensual and may make many listeners uncomfortable. (the sort of people who say get off my lawn!) But she throws her soul into every song. The tunes are catchy and the lyrics somewhat outrageous. There's genuine feeling in all of them though. I've listened to this over and over.

Gorgeous and gritty, yet also airy and smooth. LOVE this album.
Tove Lo is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists. She's got this soulful mix of 90's grungy angst, mixed with airy electro dream pop beats, and profanity-peppered lyrics that create some really interesting and vivid imagery. I'd heard a couple songs floating around, decided to buy her album, and then the next day bought tickets to her show. So yeah, she got me good, and deserves every penny and second I've spent on her. :)

Queen of the Clouds
Tove Lo is fun and real. Her voice is very similar live which is refreshing and she is easy to sing along to as well.I adore this album because its true to life for so many and its more than catchy. I am actually kind of shocked that the US market even picked it up when so many artist like her have been pushed aside....THANK GOD ONE WAS PICKED UP.She was a quick addition to my collection and is played often. Its a bit dance, pop, emo lyrics, and all around fun.

Truly the Queen (of the Clouds)
The first time I listened to this album I didn't like it very much. This was back in 2014 when it first came out and I had heard the single Talking Body which I loved (as well as the Habits remix which I do not like at all). After a few songs, I stopped listening because I just didn't like it. I gave it a couple of more tries shortly after, but with the same result.A couple of years later Tove released her second album, Lady Wood. I listened to it and fell in love with everything about Tove - the sound, the lyrics, the attitude. I purchased it along with her debut EP Truth Serum on vinyl, and decided that maybe I should try out QotC just one more time.So I tried it again, and I was floored. The first few songs - The Sex - are careless uptempo bops that, to me, remain the weaker part of the album although they are so much better now than when I first heard them. The second part, which consists of The Love, gets more real and in-depth and this is where the real art starts to show. This is my favorite part of the album. The last part of the regular edition of the album is The Pain, also a lot more raw and vulnerable side to the album than the first, which makes me appreciate the album as a whole so much more. The album is fantastic and I bought it on vinyl, which I do not regret at all. Although I have yet to actually take it for a spin, the artwork on the gatefold looks amazing and it's such a wonderful album to be able to actually hold.My personal favorite songs of the album are Thousand Miles, Got Love, Talking Body and Moments. Buy the album - it's worth it!

My favourite artist, Excellent
Holy s**t I love this woman, she has 3 albums including this one and another on the way this year, go and have a listen on Spotify then get back on here and buy all 3, you won't regret it, I didn't. Also IMHO this isn't the best of the 3 but I love it anyway.

Great album, bad mastering
Don't get me wrong, I really like Tove Lo and Queen of the Clouds is such a great album, but mastering on this vinyl was poorly done. As a result, the record doesn't play very loud and I see no point on releasing that as a double LP but as a fan I'm delighted to finally have it in my collection.
