Poor manufacturing inspection.
This unit had a totally defective Fresnel lens when it arrived. Apparently these are "printed" or "pressed" into the plastic of the lens. (It is definitely plastic). It had huge distortions right in the middle where you would use it. Seems they have a poor quality inspection team at the factory.The plastic, by the way, is lightweight - but you have to be careful not to scuff it.I like the idea - but the quality it the issue.Amazon refunded my money - which is great. And maybe I just had a late Friday afternoon unit ... so you can give it a try if you want.

This is good for ciose up work. If you have trouble seeing doing needlework or anything tedious like that, this is good for that.

It was a good magnifier but its need a light on it as overhead lights tend to cause shadows on it.

cheap crap
i bought this based on the great reviews....but not sure what they had delivered - this is cheap crap - doesn't work well at all as the image is blurry even for me who only needs 1.5 readers (bought it for my mom). do not waste your money
