I got this for lectures, and it works great for that environment. However, I also recorded an entire afternoon of idle chatter by mistake, and was impressed! I left it in my pants pocket (my pants are made of a thick, soft material, and by all appearances, completely muffle the mic) but it still recorded all my conversations clearly. I was in a room with an AC unit, and all that white noise(which you can definitely hear in person) showed up on the recording, and made it difficult to hear parts of conversation, but on the whole, if I could hear it while I was talking, I could hear it on the recording.It gets 4 stars under easy to use because it's a little too easy to use. It started and stopped multiple times throughout my day without me knowing, so the button can be a bit sensitive. Bear this in mind.The only weird thing is that all of my recordings were titled as though they were taken years ago, and the meta data reflected the titular date. Not sure why this is, but you can get around it by re-titling your files, and by stating that date +time during each recording.Mine also had files on it from the previous owner, which were high quality.All in all, it will work for lectures and for sneaky spy stuff.

Im pretty impressed with this pen!! With a regular pen its hard to write down notes when you are in a meeting and the person talks too fast , but with this pen you can record and never miss any important words !!! And nobody will know you are recording .. this is just genius !! Battery life span is good and so far dont have any problems . want to buy 1 more for my daughter in school

I have used this for meetings and personal use and the quality of sound is excellent. The price point for this item is great.And the pen writes smooth.

It is o.k I use it to record ideas. I do not like how much data this recorder can hold.
