Alaska Game Bags

Great bags for any animal but huge sized for a moose
So this is a little different of a typical review because I cannot say that I used the ones I've purchased yet. However, I went on recent hunting trip who bought the exact same bags (he used the link I sent him to purchase the same bags). He filled his moose tag and we used these bags for each quarter and he had some extras of a different brand for the scrap bag. The bags worked great. They held together when lifting a 150lb moose quarter and keep the meat aerated and dry. Once we butchered and packaged the meat up, he washed the bags in his washing machine and they came out just like new. The other brand bag had some staining from the blood.

Does what it's supposed to do but there are better options
First off I did use these to backpack an elk off the mountain... they did everything they were supposed to do. My hunt was in November so I didn't have to worry about flies and maggots. These definitely aren't reusable and they're huge (I know they're intended to be that way) so I would recommend vacuum sealing these prior to placing in your pack. I think I'm going to spend the money for caribou game bags... because they're reusable.

Save your money
I bought these for a western elk hunt. I was not lucky enough to put an elk down, but I held onto them and ended up using them to pack a whitetail out of public land. The size of the bags was nice, but the durability and function was not there. I put two quarters into one bag, a quarter and the head in a second, one quarter in the third bag, and scrap meat and back straps in the last. The bags were certainly not overloaded, being designed for elk not whitetail, but 3 out of the 4 bags had holes the size of dimes/nickels by the time I got back to the truck. Fortunately it was cold and the flies were already dormant, but if I had used these as originally intended, I am confident these bags would have stretched out enough that flies would have been able to get through the mesh and into meat, even without the holes that ripped open. The bags themselves are also bulky and heavy for their size. I would highly recommend spending your money on reusable synthetic mesh bags (black ovis, etc.) even if they’re more expensive. When you get your meat back to the truck without it being infested with insects, you’ll be glad you did. If you get these bags, you’ll be buying the synthetic bags after you use these once anyways.

Durable, versatile, and affordable!
Suitable for deer too; can fit two hind quarters of an average sized whitetail into one bag, or split them up with plenty of room to spare. I’ve reused Alaska Games bags for 3-4 seasons, and the only reason I’ve had to replace is because I’m careless and cut them short instead of bothering to untie the knots I tie in them.I’ve tied two bags together, 1/2 an average sized whitetail doe in each, and slung them over my shoulders to carry out of thick woods - no problem. Great bags.

Been using these for over 5 seasons of Elk now.
In total, I've purchased these 4 or 5 times now. Between my boy and I, we've harvested a couple of deer and 4 Elk. I generally will use them twice, maybe three times, but then I want something fresh. That raw deer / raw elk meat smell just starts to become infused with the fibers eventually. Nevertheless, these are strong, light and dependable. I'll keep using them.

Good to have on hand.
I was able to quarter and fit an entire full grown bull (cattle) in these four bags out in the pasture. Very good value for the money and great to have on hand. Very easy to wash and store.

Heavy duty bags. love them
Great bags. In my experience they can hold about 80lbs with no problem. One of the bags we cut in two, and it was used to cover almost 2/3 of an elk (see pic). Great for hanging your meat overnight, so you can get it later. They can be reused. Used the washing machine, they look fine for a second use. A little heavy, but I love them. If I get drawn for elk this year, I will buy another set, just in case.

Great package
These bags are great I’ve put multiple elk and deer in my original set. They wash up nicely and look like new. Perfect set for an entire Elk. The large bag will cover an entire deer as well. Great combo thank you
