This last sequence in this is Blu-ray 3D format capable!
This 2010 big mountain ski film "Light The Wick" was released on Oct 25th 2010 and is a rarity in the fact that it was one of only a handful of the very first Blu-ray 3D capable films that was available to purchase commercially after 3DTV's were starting to be sold but yet it's still a virtually unheard of title in the Blu-ray 3D collector market because it's a niche ski film (not a major motion picture) but also because the packaging itself doesn't list the use of the Blu-ray 3D format at all it only shows the use of the old red and blue anaglyph 3D version that is also included. Until you read the info card that's included inside the case you wouldn't even know that it's available in the modern 3D format. There is also no info about it on Bluray.com or The Illustrated 3D Movie List either. Anyway, with that out of the way let me get into my review. This was an cool ski film as usual from Teton Gravity Research. Excellent film work and music throughout. I was really impressed with the pop out and depth when viewed on my Optoma blu-ray 3D capable projector. What's not to love with the awesome scenery, daredevil skiing, and then full screen aspect ratio 3D as a cherry on top? The Blu-ray 3D part is only the last skiing segment on the disc and the credits are as well but that being said it is well done and even natively shot with dual RED ONE 3D camera rigs like James Cameron uses (not post converted 3D). As for the packaging, It is a plastic disc holder inside a cardboard sleeve that has a inside pocket. I received the red and blue glasses for the anaglyph 3D version that was originally included as well as a info card about the 3D tech used in the film and what you need to watch it that way (shown in the pictures above). I believe that originally this also might have came with a sticker from the energy drink sponsor of the film but wasn't included in any of the 3 used copies that I bought. Overall I couldn't have been more thrilled to have found this and add it to my both my Blu-ray 3D and ski/snowboard film collections.

Meh
I have a 3d TV and the 3d part did not work at all. I tried using the 3d settings that were on the tv, and I tried using the paper 3d glasses that came with the dvd. It sucked, didn't even get through 5 minutes of the 3d section before getting frustrated and turning the DVD off. Besides that it was a decent video, I guess.

Three Stars
Doesn't flow as well as a Candide film.

so nasty
definite must-have. this video is unreal, truly takes skiing to a new level. In the Blu-Ray is icing on the cake and now i'm gonna throw this video in my PS3 and light the wick because this video is hella sick.
