Two Step Stool, Espresso

I love this stool. I have bought plastic ones for about 6 years now for my children. Plastic ones slip or bend or flip or the rubber feet fall off (or get pulled off...). I tried the folding ones, while although great for temporary use and compact storage, NOT a good idea with children. Finally I decided to spend the extra money on a wooden stool and found this one from Pidoko Kids for a price not a great deal more than what I spent on some of the other stools. This one put together easy with an allen wrench, it is sturdy, it doesn't slip. It is heavy enough my children do not tote it around the house (yet) but light enough to push out of the way or carry to another room if I need to. What I may like the best is that this stool is taller than the plastic stools. My youngest son would climb on the cabinet door handles because the plastic stools were not tall enough to reach the bathroom sink. Now he can reach it without risking slipping off of the rounded handles or risking damage to the cabinet doors. A bonus is that this is a lovely stool and makes my home feel more like a home and less like a daycare, which is always helpful in terms of sanity.

Our 2 year old loves to wash his hands and brush his own teeth, but we were tired of holding him over the sink. Most of the stools we saw were far too short for him to reach the tall sink. We were using a folding stepstool but it could not get close to the sink because of the angled frame, plus it was ugly and we kept tripping over the feet. The KidKraft stool is perfect for what we wanted, it's tall enough for him to reach the faucet. It's solid wood and looks elegant, and has well located handles. It assembled in minutes and doesn't wobble. We added rubber feet so it wouldn't slide away when our son leaned forward over the sink.

Stool looks exactly as pictured. Nice finish, was very easy to put together and sturdy. Only complaint is that there is no grip where the stool meets the floor, so if you have slippery tiles in your bathroom you may want to put a mat etc. underneath or be aware of this. When my toddler is at the sink she leans forward and so the stool tends to slide away from the counter. I cut out and pasted some gripper type material on the bottom of the stool to provide more resistance.

Assembled, disassembled and returned in the same day......I was really excited about this stool but really disappointed in the overall quality of the product delivered. I am a super handy person and LOVE assembling things (it is really cathartic for me) but this one had me cursing and yelling in frustration! You HAVE to have another set of hands to balance and align all the pieces for screws to thread right and keep all the wooden pegs in place. On top of that one of the screw heads broke off while I was doing the final tighten (I was using a hand operated screw driver not even a drill)!Finally, and probably most importantly, it was terribly finished! After I built the whole thing I got to looking at it and what I had thought, after a brief glance, was styrofoam dust turned out to be peeled paint along almost EVERY edge! It looked so cheap and terrible.I was THIS close to running the dang thing over with my truck and just taking the loss of money to satisfy my rage.

This stepstool is the quality I was looking for - sturdy enough when assembled (easy assembly, too) to feel confident it will stay together with use by my 2-year-old. My only complaints are that both step surfaces arrived with the brown coating scraped off the front edges, so it's already looking worn before we even use it, and more importantly that the finish is so smooth as to be dangerous. When I tested the stool with my sock-covered foot, it slid right off, so I am not going to allow my son to use the stool without applying some non-skid grip tape to both steps. That said, for the price, and given the necessary addition of non-skid strips aftermarket, the stool is a solid buy.

I bought this as a gift for my two year old niece. It was easy to assemble. I purchased grip tape from Lowes, as the stool is rather slippery (not in a bad way, but for a toddler, anything can cause a tumble). I then purchased some decorations - jewels to stick on the sides, a sparkly letter "B" for my niece's name. I used wood glue to apply. It turned out so adorable and my niece uses it every day to stand at the sink and brush her teeth. It's also big enough for her to use as she grows. Such a great gift!

This stepping stool is awesome! I bought it in espresso so it matches our bathroom. It was shipped fast and I received it within 2 days of ordering. Now having it in the bathroom, my daughter loves going to wash her hands. I plan to use it in the kitchen too, so she can help with things on the kitchen counter, like making dough for home-made bread (she is 22 months old now). The 2 pieces that you step on are lighter color than the rest of the chair (I don't know if anyone else had this discoloration issue), but I guess it is fine. It took me 20 minutes to assemble the stool (believe me, I am pretty bad with assembling furniture) and I think it was very easy, just like the rest of the KidKraft furniture we have (which was assembled by my husband, but he said they were easy too). I am very happy with the the seller, Pidoko, fast delivery, no issues with the product, friendly follow-up email.

I sent it back because the quality of wood and craftsmanship was poorly done, I expected a way better Step Stool for the price.

Sent this product back. Cheaply made, wrong color, all pieces were scratched, a LOT of assembly required. Save your money!!
