Mulberry by Genmert Double Stack Bento Box with Utensils, Eggplant

I bought this box as a birthday gift for my boss who expressed interest in bento. As part of her gift, I had the pleasure of packing a full bento in this well-laid-out box. I like to make my bentos pretty and nutritionally balanced, and with this box, the lunch practically packed itself. The dividers make it easy to organize visual elements and judge how much will fit. It fits a lot of food, too. The possibilities are pretty endless, and combined with other bento accessories like silicone dividers and cups, packing a cute bento is a breeze!!I also love how secure and low-maintenance it is. I have been using a hand-wash only bento that requires an elastic band to close. I am now buying one of these boxes for myself in the berry/magenta-ish color (nothing wrong with the orange, but purple suits me a bit better) to replace my flimsy old bento box. No more worrying about losing my bento band or having it slip off, and my mum won't complain that my bento crowds the dish drying rack anymore!There have been some complaints with this series of boxes that the sticker won't peel off. I had an easy time getting it off by hitting it for 30 seconds with a hot hairdryer. It softens the adhesive and the sticker peels up in one easy piece.

This arrived broken, so my review is based on the quality of a product that doesn't perform as intended. However, I can say that I'm not surprised that the piece was broken; it's not well made. The whole box is held together by the clips on the side (you can see one in the product picture). These clips are held on to the lid by little plastic dots that fit into holes so that the hinge can swing. Once even one of those breaks, the whole box is worthless, because the lid will just pop off and food will fly everywhere. In my case, one was already broken when it arrived. I will not be exchanging it for another of the same brand. I will spend a few extra bucks and get one that will last more than a week.

I was very excited to get this because it was cute, and the perfect size. I used it once and it worked really well. During normal handling, (opening it, to take it apart to wash it) one of the side panels that locks the whole thing together snapped off. It was a huge break in the plastic and completely non-repairable. :( I give it two stars instead of one, because it worked for the time I had it, and it may not snap for everyone... but I know for a fact I was very gentle with it, so its a little disconcerting.

it' was a nice box with nice compartments, but one of the latches has already broken. As I was the only one using it, I can tell you that I didn't abuse or drop it. I didn't force it closed or misuse it in any way. and the latch still broke within 10 days.

I'm notoriously bad about remembering to pack my own lunch, so I needed something that would 1) be suitable to bring to work and 2) not look so "all purpose" that it'd disappear from the cabinets, never to be found again. (Note: I bought these in a brick-and-mortar store, so this is about the product and not service or delivery.) I got a few of them so that I could pack a week's worth of lunches in one go, and the different compartments make it easy to make myself a healthy and variety-filled meal. This means I'm getting enough fruits and veggies into the meal while still having plenty of room for proteins and starches to keep me full over the course of my day. The side panels lock the compartments in place for easy carrying, and the included fork and spoon fit well inside the upper or lower large compartments. Just remember to include them! The only downside is that none of the compartments look like they'd have a secure enough seal to put liquids inside, so no soups should be added. However, everything is microwaveable and dishwasher safe (top rack only), so clean-up is pretty easy.

This lunchbox is a fantastic redo on the classic bento! It has plenty of room for a medium-large sized lunch, or a regular lunch and snacks, etc. The only negative was a brand sticker on the top that was very hard to peel off. (I had to break out the denatured alcohol.) Nevertheless, this is a great lunch box! Good quality, true to the picture and description, good price compared to some of the more expensive bento/lunchbox setups.

When I received this I thought it would come in handy for lunch until I attempted to take the stickers off. It has 3 large stickers on the top & sides & one on the bottom. They would not come off. I used cooking oil, hot water, soap & I tore up a magic eraser trying to get the glue off & there is still glue residue remaining on the top & bottom. I will not use any kind of oil that is not safe for food to get it off. So I thought I would try it for work anyway. Well, the latch broke on one side & I my lunch spilled out in my bag before I made it into work. I cannot recommend this at all. I was really looking forward to this little thing. Wasted money is not cool.

I was mostly pleased with the lack of leakage and the design of the compartments. But within a couple of weeks of use, the pin that hooked the lid so it would fasten onto the box broke. The box is useless and I tossed it.
