Young Green Jackfruit in Water - 20oz (18 Pack)

Negatives first: while advertised as being packed in water, which is what I wanted, this jackfruit is actually packed in brine. The "water" has a salty taste and the amount of sodium/serving is high. That said, after the fruit is allowed to soak in *real* water to rinse out the salt, the product is perfect for making vegan pulled "pork" and other tasty dishes. I did not note any overwhelming saltiness (after giving it a soak in water) like I have with jackfruit that is explicitly packed in brine. Just beware that this product is not a low sodium product, right out of the can, as one might think.

My item arrived on-time, undamaged, and was exactly as described. I cook this in the slowcooker to make sliders (BBQ, buffalo, jerk) and it is always a hit! The texture is extremely similar to pulled pork or chicken, though I would say it is noticeably less firm. Also, so long as you use a flavorful sauce, it really just tastes like whatever you cook it in.

Can't tell too much difference between this one and the one packed in brine, but it's good. Just wish all the cans weren't dented.

All of these cans arrived with some dents. I didn't want to go through the trouble of having them replaced and would probably order again.

I've used this for faux pork in green sauce with white rice in tacos.... excellent.....next up will be BBQ sauce in the slow cooker....nice and chewy but not tough....great stand-in for chicken/pork...just remember that jackfruit packed in syrup is for desserts

Out of 5 cans all had large, multiple dents in them. I don’t know if they’re safe for use.Worst part, non- returnable.

We buy this often as a meat substitute for cooking. Taste great when prepared properly when cooking.

Made BBQ jackfruit from Plant Pure Nation cookbook...was excellent!
