Cosmic Pet Kitty Herbs

RE: Cosmic Kitty Herbs.Our totally indoor cat loves this stuff. I plant it in small ceramic pots on the windowsill, and when it's about 4" tall, I put one pot on the floor at a time and she devours it. Have been growing these pots of wheatgrass for her for for years now, and was upset to find that local pet food stores had stopped carrying the seeds. Doesn't anybody grow their own anymore? It is so much cheaper than buying tubs of wheatgrass at Fred Meyer's for $4 a pop. I heartily recommend this product for all indoor cats who aren't able to get any greens by snacking around in the yard. If we need vegetables and fiber, maybe cats do too.

My cat is very jealous of my plants and behaves better when she has her own. She nibbles every day! I keep two pots and when one is looking scraggly, I start the other one - just sprinkle seeds on top the dirt, cover lightly with a bit more soil, water well and place in a sunny window. In four days it's grown high enough to switch plants. I agree with others that a good sized pot is desirable as my cat also pulls some of the grass out by the roots (my pots are 6-1/2" in diameter and 5-3/4" high). Some she pulls, some she eats and some she just bites and tastes. My cat is 12 years old, rarely gets excited even by catnip, and will only eat one brand of purchased treats. But she LOVES her herbs!It's too bad this product is no longer available in local stores because it is the only treat my cat doesn't get tired of. It has been replaced by expensive, one-time use shallow pots or bags, so I was delighted to find it available on Amazon. One bag lasted me about eight months. This time I will buy three bags - two for me and one for a friend who recently got her own cat.

Bought these to plant for my cat. She loved them when they actually grew, but to get them to grow was a challenge. I would much rather buy pregrown grass for kitty to chew on.

You can grow a lot of kitty grass easily with this seed, and save a HUGE amount of money vs buying pre-grown grass from the pet store. Just drop the seeds on the surface of a little pot of dirt (even the bottom of a soda bottle will work) and add water. Won't be long before you have dense green grass even indoors!Your cat NEEDS grass in his diet, so indoor cats will benefit greatly from this. If you let your cat go outdoors for grass, not only might he eat grass with pesticide on it but he'll likely eat a long blade of carpet grass which will make him throw up - probably inside your house!

I have been using Kosmic Kitty Herbs for a very long time. Other products aren't as reliable in sprouting or quality of "grass". Kosmic's grass is a thicker "blade", greener color, and grows higher than any other I have used.(Finding them has been a problem lately, though most stores can only say it's based on "demand". Since this is such a high quality product with a lower price than the others offered, that is a bit of a stretch for me.)All that aside, of the many products used in lieu of Kosmic Kitty, none have come close to the ease of planting, quick sprouting, and lush green grass. My cats love the product.

If you want to grow your own Cat Grass, then I would highly recommend you get this. I prefer growing our own instead of buying pre-packaged "add water" kits.Once the cats start eating this, we can plant another one and get it started so there will be fresh greens for them. Our cats eat this everyday and love it. I have not had any issues with Cosmic brand seeds. They grow and germinate every-time. We have two pots and extra dirt on hand for this. Once you through out the old seeds and dirt I would recommend that your throw this outside instead of in the trash. Better to recycle this and turn it into composite.

I,ve been growing these for my cat for 6 years.The last two batches were expired.Bear in mind,I never knew they had an exp. date.Look at the back of the pkg.If the test date is 6 mos.or over,they probably will not grow properly.Mine were coming out moldy,brown and very sperse.I called Cosmic directly to resolve the issue.

Cosmic kitty Herbs are a mixture of barley, oat, and wheat grass varieties that are essential for cat digestion and good health. The seeds sprout and grow consistently so I get a full pot of grass that my cats absolutely love! Full of nutrients and fiber that also helps control hairballs and throw up. My cats go completely nuts for this grass - they cry for it and act like it's the most important thing they can get at (my one cat even stood in the pouring rain with his paws on the edge of the pot eating this grass). When I run out my cats have more digestive problems and are inclined to chew on house plants.
