In the upper middle of the Neck Duster game
I have gone through many neck dusters in my day and I would say this one is right in the middle of that spectrum. The handle makes it light weight, easy to use, and holds well in the hand. The bleached boars hair practically grabs the hair right from my clients necks and puts it right on the floor. The only problem I have come across is the boars hair periodically falling out, which isn't a huge deal and is almost half expected with these kinds of brushed. Overall, it is a step above a mediocre neck duster brush.

Pass on the William Marvy No.64 Neck Duster
Maybe a I received a fluke, but this William Marvy No.64 Neck Duster is the pits. It looks nothing like what's on the exterior packaging. The only redeeming factor is the handle. The boar bristles are broken, nowhere near a full brush, looks very scraggly, the bristle end isn't even trimmed flat. I don't know anything about William Marvy products, but I would not let my name be associated with this brush. I think I saw on the Marvy Web site it was made in the USA. Not possible since on the handle is a poorly applied sticker that say's, William Marvy No.64 Neck Duster Made in China." Returning the brush.

How it looks is how it is
I don't know why I expected it to be different than how it looks but It feels like a straw broom which is what I should have expected from the look. It does the job but it’s the reason why I gave it 4/5. I expected it to be softer.

Smaller than expected
I'm used to a barber sized duster, about 9 inches long and 4 inches in circumfrence. This was a surprise when I got it. It will make a good keyboard duster or good for other small projects around the office but it sure will not handle what I intended to use it for. Might be good in your gun cleaning kit for knocking dust off rapidly but not too sure how well/long it hold up to that type of use.

High quality neck duster at an affordable price
I’ve used different types of neck dusters for my family’s hair trims and cuts when we’re in between barber shop and beauty salon visits, and this is my go-to duster! The lightweight, long wooden handle is easy for me to grip and maintain control. This neck duster does a really good job removing hair trimmings with or without talcum powder. The boar’s head bristles are tightly secured and don’t shed, even after being cleaned. It’s easy to sanitize and works just as well afterwards. This is a high-quality neck duster at a very affordable price, and I recommend it for in-home and professional use.

Smooth to the touch neck duster!
I grew up going to traditional barbershops with my father. Learning the art of conversation, the sometimes weekly habit of a trim up, or hot shave.Certain things I grew to expect in this environment; the haircut obviously, the mirror, hair products and the final touch of the "neck duster"! My wife got me this as a remembrance gift, and I'm so glas she did. Not only did it bring back great memories, but it works like a charm with its smooth contact of the boars hair! Thank you my wife!

Great Brush for Stringed Musical Instruments
I have needed a bristle brush like this for a long time. I play a Soprano and a Baritone Bowed Psaltery, and they have up to 36 strings. The bow that is used to play, must have Rosin applied, the same as the bow for a violin. The problem I have had in the past, is the rosin dust that accumulates on the strings and falls onto the body of the Psaltery. This brush in excellent as it allows me to lightly dust between each of the strings, without getting the individual strings out of tune. It is soft and pliable and does not scratch the beautiful wood of the instrument.

Lacks delicacy
A neck duster should soft to the skin. This one is rough- boar's hairs. It should be light and short for feathery wristmovements, like those of a barber or hairstylist. This one is long, heavy, unwieldy. It's not a pretty dark color, but an unattractive straw color. The handle is too long, ditto the hairs.
