Works great save of time!
The media could not be loaded. We replaced broken white union nut (415-5000) between the hottub pipe and hottub pump with this split nut without cutting the pipe. So far so good no leaks. Great save of time and money! This part had a reference number on the bag as: SDR-MAGICPLASTICS-0121109020.

Fits well - Saves Hours - Saves $$$
The size descriptions provided by the seller leave a lot to be desired, but one of the previous reviewers provided dimensions. The inner diameter of the inner hole when this collar nut is assembled fits the outside diameter of PVC fittings (e.g. with outside diameter of 2-5/8 inches - straight, elbow, etc.) which a 2-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe fits into. The diameter and threads of these split collars fit both the Pentair Salt Cells (e.g. IC15 and IC40) and Pentair Motor housing. This pair of collar nuts are not as thick nor as soft a plastic material (more stiff and likely more brittle) as the collars that come in the standard union fittings packs - e.g. with the Salt Cells. I used PVC glue with the 2 screws provided and the seam is strong, although it may not be necessary to use the glue. Bit time and $$$ saver as replacing the piping just to replace a cracked collar otherwise would be a much bigger job.

Simply amazing - big fan
Went to take off my salt cell and the old ones broke becuase the threads were fused. In the process of removing I cracked the threaded fitting. Thought I was going to need to buy all this pvc and mess up in the process of replacing the fittings. Found these. They work. Hallelujah. No pvc work and the fitting feels durable.

Works pretty good
I’ve used these a few times but the last ones I ordered were missing a screw so essentially one is worthless now which was disappointing

Lifesaver!
This product was a life and time saver. It allowed me to spend no more than 5 minutes replacing a cracked salt cell union nut on my pool pump. I thought I'd have at least a day's work ahead of me having to cut through PVC and figuring out how to reconnect. This saved a LOT of time and money. So easy to replace and having a backup on hand is a bonus! Highly recommend.

Money and time saver
I didn't know these existed. It saved me having to re plumb my PVC piping on my salt cell union. Easy to install and holding up.

Repaired the connection to my Pool pump system Salt Cell Chlorinator
The threads fit perfectly to my Hayward brand salt cell.. this turned a 2 hour job into a ten minute project. If I hired the project out the estimates were $150. I am very pleased with the split union replacement. I used a rubber strap wrench to remove the damaged union.. had room to just slide the cracked one up (though I could have removed it by busting it out). I used the same strap wrench to tighten this great replacement part on. Project was a breeze.. no more plumbing leak. I went ahead and replaced the bottom union as well (it appeared to be developing a crack, so I chose to be proactive.. certainly based on the simplicity of the replacement process) I am very satisfied with this purchase. We will see how long it holds up.. i am optimistic that it will last a while.

Thinner than OEM Nut, Check for Paired Halves, DO NOT TIGHTEN screws BEFORE Tightening Union
Fit my IC40 SWG but the Union Nut is noticeably thinner than the OEM Nut. I'm slightly concerned about whether it will hold up under long-term use but given the alternative, which is to replumb a lot of PVC parts, I'm willing to give it a try.Check your Union halves to confirm that one half of each pair has a smaller hole that will take the supplied self-tapping screw. For one of my split Union nuts, both halves had large straight bored holes so I was unable to fasten that split nut using the provided self-tapping screws. I had to get a small nut & bolt that would fit the tight space in order the join the split-halves together. This turned out to be a mixed blessing, as indicated below. As other's have indicated DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN the split screws before tightening the union between piping and SWG cell. The purpose of the Union Nut is to draw the SWG cell and the piping together, therefore it may necessary to leave a gap between the split if that's what it takes to get maximum pull/union of the piping into the SWG cell face. Fully screwing the halves together before forming a tight union will make the nut too small/tight to fully draw piping into the SWG cell, should that happen, it will leak.
