HaoMing OTF knives Double Action Out The Front Safety Knife

I’ve had this knife for about a week, and I gotta say, it’s pretty cool. Now I’ve never owned an otf before. So I can’t say how much better or worse it is than really quality, much more expensive knives. I can say, however, is that this thing has got to be worth more than 40 bucks. It’s awesome! It’s heavy and feels sturdy. I could definitely smash through a window with the glass breaker end. And the button is kinda hard to push to get the blade to go out and in, but it’s super fun anyway. The blade came arm shaving sharp, so that’s a plus. I don’t know. It was only 40 bucks and it’s a workout otf knife! I gotta assume that’s pretty great. Love the pocket clip btw. Best one I’ve ever had.

UPDATED: I have tried to contact the vendor via the Amazon email method. I emailed detailing the problem and this is what they responded with:"Hello, how can it not be used normally? Is the blade not protruding? Still have problems?"I reply emailed them with the same info. This is what they responded with:"Hello, your order is Amazon delivery, please contact Amazon customer service directly, thank you，"I have ordered stuff from Amazon since its beginning. I've ordered from other online vendors since forever. There have been FEW problems but when there were problems, they have always been addressed by the vendor. Until now. This vendor HaoMing Knives has been the ABSOLUTE WORST buying experience since I've been buying - online or in a store. Frustrating to say the least. AMAZON! YOU HAVE TO VET YOUR VENDORS BETTER THAN THIS!My HoaMing OTF knife arrived quickly. It was most impressive - a lined pouch, belt holster and this seemingly sweet knife. I was stunned at its apparent quality. The action is insanely awesome - QUICK out, QUICK in and locks in place solidly. All materials and workmanship appear to be high quality. The edge was just "good enough" - not razer sharp as some reviewers had stated. It is quite hefty - big and heavy. Not a problem, just more size and heft than I expected. Overall I was QUITE impressed. Then I knocked it off my dining room table onto the parquet floor. 32 inch drop onto a wooden floor and the knife was kaput. It didn't break - the blade was totally free-floating. No spring action. A little wiggle would allow the blade to ease out of the handle. Sigh... It looked so promising but its sturdiness was a disaster. No - I would not recommend this knife to anyone. I'm looking to the vendor to make it right but I'm not sure it can be done with replacing it with another like it.

It's solid & sturdy, it fits well in the pocket (back pocket), it doesn't feel like you'll break it while using it, the action is crisp and smooth, nothing is lose, and the blade is sharp.Honestly, when I bought this auto-knife for $35, I thought it would be a cheaper build. But this knife is definitely worth the money and I'll probably buy another one (a different OTF model) to add to my collection.

Heavy knife. Broke the first time I used it. Thank God I was battling a cardboard box and not a masher!

I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT SEVERAL OTF KNIFES FOR A LONG TIME. I DIDN'T WANT TO PAY $300 FOR ONE. AFTER MANY HOURS OF RESEARCH (TO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS), I DECIDED TO BUY THIS ONE. IT HAD MOSTLY GREAT REVIEWS, SOME PEOPLE CAN 'T BE SATISFIED. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS THE BEST OTF KNIFE FOR UNDER $40. IT IS VERY WELL BUILT, HAS A STRONG SPRING, AND A COMFORTABLE RUBBER LIKE GRIP. IT ALSO COMES WITH A NYLON SHEATH WHICH I RECOMMEND YOU USE WHEN YOU CARRY IT, BECAUSE IT IS HEAVY, WHICH I LIKE. IT ALSO HAS A STORAGE BAG. THE ONE SIDE BLADE IS VERY SHARPE, BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS STAINLESS. IF YOU KEEP IT OILED THAT WON'T MATTER. I'M VERY HAPPY I PICKED THIS ONE. IF THIS WAS MADE IN U.S.A. IT WOULD COST WELL NORTH OF $100.

For the price, I was only expecting so much, and probably would have been happy enough with less. I'm amazed. It's got good heft to it. The action is strong and smooth both opening and retracting. Oh, and it is a true double action.The one thing that can be considered a positive or negative depending on what you're looking for is the switch. It's pretty stiff, which I like. I have no concerns that it will open accidentally in my pocket or something, so that's great. I also figure if somehow a kid is at my house and gets hold of it, they probably won't be able to open it, so that's also good. That said, this isn't a knife for your grandmom.Great knife. Great bargain. Only caveat is that if you have arthritis in your hands or anything like that, you'll probably have a difficult time opening (and even more so closing) this knife.

So I own numerous OTFs ...benchmade, microtech ect. This is a solid knife with a great action and sturdy build. I'm not to sure about the blade steel type however it seems fine and the edge has kept for what I've done to it and is still sharp. I dont imagine it is going to be a tool you can beat up from a blade stand point . However you won't be dissatisfied with the build especially for the cost. At a fraction of any of the main OTFs on the market you cant go wrong. Not to diminish a benchmade or micro by any means....they are the benchmark for such knives. The dollars don't necessarily mean it's that exponential better.Give this one a go and see for yourself.

Awesome knife. It is not light in weight but I was not going to take away from its rating. I'm a collector and I'm proud to put this one in the knife box !
