Mazda Switch - KDY0-46-040

I had this common issue with Mazdas when you put the car into Park and shut it off, the engine would shut off but the radio and accessories would not, and i had to either turn it on and off or just slam the shifter into Park and it would fix it after repeated times, it was really annoying and one time my car didn't shut off at all and had to leave it with the accessories on for a couple of hours. That's when i got this part after some research, I'm a Ford Technician so installing this part was really easy, but anyone with some tools and the knowledge can do it, its nothing complicated just looks intimidating to do yourself, and I'm sure the dealership will cost you an arm. Its a genuine Mazda part, and fixed my problem, now everytime I put my car on Park and shut it off everything shuts off. Very satisfying after months of fighting with the shifter.

My 2014 Mazda 6 had troubles registering it was in park and would not allow me to completely shut off my car. This was extremely stressful when running late etc. I found a YouTube video using this part and figured I’d try to replace it my self and I am so glad I did!! Easy to replace took less than an hour and my car now shuts off on the first push. Super good price for the piece I’m happy with this product. 10/10 recommend.

Our Mazda 6 would not totally power down the ignition when put in park and the engine was shut down. You would open the door and the car would continuously beep and the displays would not shut off. If left in this condition the battery would drain and the car wouldn't start after a few hours. The remedy was to re-start the car and SLAM the shifter into park (automatic transmission) this would engage the park position sensor and allow the car to be shut down normally. Every time we valet parked we would have to get a jump start. The problem is that Mazda installed faulty "park sensor" switches that wore out quickly. This part is a stronger replacement for the first generation sensor switch (which Mazda will not take responsibility for). Shame on you Mazda. Anyways, this part works AWESOME and we haven't had any problems since we installed it. There are a few videos on youtube to help you with the install. It took me about 45 minutes to get the trim removed and re-installed.

Worked exactly as I needed and saved me a lot of money!

This is exactly what I needed to fix the annoying (and potentially dangerous - ending up with a dead battery in the middle of nowhere would not be good!) problem of the car not recognizing when it’s in park and therefore not turning off the infotainment console when the car shut off. I had figured out a workaround of repeatedly and firmly shifting into Park until it turned all the way off, but that method wasn’t foolproof and seemed to be loosing its effectiveness. This took about 1 hour start to finish to replace, saving me about $230 compared to what the dealer would have charged ($290) to replace. Have had for about 2 weeks now and works perfectly. So nice to shift gently into park and have the car operate as it should.

My Mazda CX5 wasn't turning off completely. I would turn off my engine, but the radio would stay on. There were a couple of times where I took my car to get serviced and when I picked it up, either the radio would be on, or the battery would need to be jump started. After getting a quote from Mazda to replace it (over $400), I decided to watch YouTube videos to do it myself. I bought this switch for less than $40 and fixed it.

Fui a la agencia porque mi mazda no se apagaba y me diagnosticaron mil cosas muy caras. Luego con otro mecánico quería hacer como que cambiaba toda la palanca. Afortunadamente me encontré con este link en un video de YouTube y fue muy facil de cambiar. Ahora mi camioneta se apaga a la primera y la batería ya no tiene fuga
