Japanese Kyusu Tokoname Handmade Clay Teapot 11.8 Onces Tomisen Red L104 (Single Pack) (One Pack)

A beautiful teapot that is well crafted, pleasing to use, and brews beautiful sencha tea. Size is appropriate for two small teacups or one large (sushi-ya style) cup. Care and attention went into the shipping box to assure it arrived safely.

I'm a huge loose leaf tea drinker. Primarily of the Chinese Gong Fu style brewing and teas(lots of leaf in a gaiwan, short steeps and pour into a pitcher to drink with small cups). But I recently tries some Japanese teas, that don't work well in that format. Still working out how best to do it, but I got this pot to try and keep it in line with what you're supposed to do(not sure how much leaf, but longer brew times in a larger pot). So far mixed results in operator error(bitter tea from steeping too long and using roughly 5-6g of tea in the pot), but the ones I did get right tasted great. This pot is much larger than I expected coming from the gaiwan world and I need a tea strainer for the smaller, finer leaves of some Japanese teas. But, it seems to work pretty well for a novice drinker of Japanese teas.I like the pot and recommend it for solo brewing, but everyone has their preferences(maybe one smaller than 11.8 ounces/350ml).

Got this today to replace a Kyusu I gave myBrother. Super cute. Sturdy. Ceramic filter which is better than the metal mesh. Very good quality and brewed mySencha beautifully!

Lovely ceramic piece, but was protected by basically nothing more than a single layer of plastic foam, leading to it arriving with a broken handle.Additionally, the color is nothing at all like the image. The actual color is nice, but that makes me wonder the authenticity of the product.
