PiatnikPlaying Cards - The Art Pack Single Deck

This is one of the most brilliant decks I have ever seen in my life. As a poker deck, the numbers and symbols are perfectly sized, large enough for middle-aged eyes like mine to see well enough while playing. Now, if you should want to use this deck for tarot-styled readings, I must tell you that it works equally great for that. In fact, it is incredible. If you are a card reader who also knows a fair amount about classical paintings and artists then you can see parallel symbolism within this deck--and often some extra humor. As an example, the 7 of wands in tarot usually denotes a conflict or struggle. In an ordinary deck of playing cards, the 7 of clubs represents the 7 of wands. As you can tell from the photo I've provided, the art chosen for this card is "The Painter's Daughters" by Gainsborough. The young gal in the painting is attempting to catch a butterfly. Now, is that a struggle or not?

I love these cards! I am a high school art teacher who also happens to love a good card trick too. These are great I’m so many ways. The artwork is beautiful, it has all of the greatest pieces, and they are so useful in education. They work as flash cards, inspiration for artwork, or fun learning games. Of course, they are a perfect classic deck of cards as well. 10/10 would recommend!

lovely, but small.

Beautiful and nice quality. Bought these for my son, as he can't seem to get enough of playing cards. We figured might as well play with a deck that would teach him something. An easy way to get art history and masterpieces into him. Lovely reproductions. Recommended.

This is the most beautiful deck of cards I've ever had. Each card has a masterpiece by a great artist, and my six year old granddaughter is fascinated by them -- the royal boy by Goya is her favorite. What a wonderful introduction to art history!

These cards are interesting, and the art work seems good to me. However, if you are expecting Bicycle quality cards, you will be disappointed. Snap, finish, and cutting are below what I normally expect. But if you are not a card aficionado, they are fine.

I love that its something different on every card and it gives you the date and artist and name on every card.

The cards didn't smell of chemicals too badly . smelled like musty pasta?? pics ok cardstock should be heavier for price.

Piatnik are based in Vienna. It was great to be able to buy this pack without having to order from Austria, with the associated problems of currency conversion and customs declarations.
