There are a TON of inconsistencies in the book and a lot of questions flat out have the wrong answers. There are even mispelled words in azure command examples. You can clearly tell the author of chapters 1 and 2 did NOT write chapter 3. The complete flow changes with inconsistent variable usage and inconsistent numbering of questions to answers. Whoever edited this book missed a LOT of stuff. Also, Question 7 for chapter 3.1 has a choice between <LocalStorage> and <LocalResources> which is unfair because <LocalStorage> is a sub element of <LocalResources>. The readings do not make it logical when confronted with the Thought experiments at the end of each section of a chapter. And ANY Exam that makes you memorize all the different sizes of VMs available in order to know what is the best fit is not really checking your knowledge of the platform. Any normal human being would just look at what is available when making that choice without having to Memorize all the different sizes from Free to Premier. Example Question: A worker role requires at least 3 cores, 48 GB of memory and local resource storage of 500 GB. Which instance size would meet this. Most people would look this up or query it in PowerShell. They certainly wouldn't have to remember it.Choices:A. LargeB. ExtraLargeC. Standard_D13D. A7 <--Correct Answer btw...A better question is what is the correct PowerShell syntax to narrow down the offerings that would meet this criteria.

The content is nicely formatted but sometimes the questions and answers leave a lot to be desired. For instance, there are no answers for section 4.1 and it seems that other answers are just wrong. If nothing else it made me dive deeper into the material to figure out the correct answers.

Great study book
Not only did it help me pass my exam, its a great reference to keep on hand afterwards. The book is a bit outdated as the Azure stuff has changed a lot, but this book is inline with the exam. I suggest reading it and trying the examples in a test/trial Azure subscription where you can. It helps to get a lot of it down.

Good book for the exam
Good format well structured. There were some incorrect graphics in the book. I'd prefer the answers to the question be in each section after the questions. This makes using them as a study reference simpler.

Must also use practice exams to prepare for the test.

Pretty poorly executed
Pretty poorly executed. This book assumes you already have functioning content on Azure. You can't get past the Powershell on page 3 without a few hours of chasing around errors on the Azure website.

Five Stars
Fantastic book by Michael Washam and company that covers the core learning objectives for the Microsoft 70-533 exam.

it was a bit of a disappointment.
While this book provided a decent overview of some of the concepts that needed to be reviewed, it would be a stretch to call it an exam reference. Many of the concepts are already obsolete and the preparation it provided for the exam was very minimal. Give the lack of other detailed training materials to prepare for the 533 exam, it was a bit of a disappointment.

Overall good and a pass first time :-)
I studied using this book as my main study material and passed first attempt. Azure has moved on since the book (it's always moving on btw) BUT the book still covers most of what you need to know for the exam, I used free resources (Youtube, MS Virtual Academy, Google) to fill in any missing gaps or things I wasn't sure about, but I used the book for the vast majority of study with an Azure Free Trial subscription as a lab.On the minus side - in some places the book fails just for lack of accuracy in printing, do they have any proof readers at MS - seriously? A couple of major errors for example, one set of three questions had four answers and in objective 5.3 most of the illustrations are completely wrong, which really detracts from the text as it's not possible to follow along. On the plus side - the book is short for MCP course material in only being about three hundred and fifty pages and six chapters (please, please, please someone at MS keep that as standard for the future) so it covers the material very succinctly. The questions are exactly how I would expect for course material - not as difficult as the real exam and that's the industry wide standard, they are there to make sure the basic concepts are highlighted to the reader. The book can't cover every last thing in the exam BUT there's enough to get you through if you study thoroughly. Keep your wits about you to catch any errors that may pop up and if something looks like there is a new version then investigate it in your Azure Free Trial subscription and/or search for it on the Internet. Well that's how I did it anyway.

A very concise and well written book and provides you with the structure for preparing for the exam . However this is primarily written with an objective of exam and this will not make you fully aware of everything in Azure platform. This should be supplemented with hands on knowledge and reading several blogs in MSDN and Azure website

Good but already out of date.
Contains a lot of information on Azure that I didn't know before I read the book. However it's already out of date and when you log into Azure online the screenshots and options don't always match up.
