Good sound quality - USB is the only power source
The media could not be loaded. This unit surprised me with the sound quality - overall it's about 7.5" x 7.5" and it has built in speakers along with a place for the cd right on the front face. It comes with a full function remote control (you supply your own batteries), a USB cable and power adapter, an audio connector cable, wall mounting hardware and a sturdy plastic folding stand (this stand was far sturdier than I expected - definitely a usable accessory)Packaging was good - everything positioned securely and well protected. The manual was right on top - it was minimal, but usage of the unit is pretty straightforward. There's basic controls on top, along with an led display for mode and track, etc. The there's a lengthy cable that hangs from the bottom that serves as the on/off switch (pull on/pull off) - that cable has a USB connector on the end of it. I plugged in the connector to my laptop and pushed a cd onto the face. T started playing - simple as that. After playing with it a few minutes, I turned on my phone's camera... That's what you see on the attached video.Like I said, I was impressed by the sound from this small portable unit. When you turn it on, the cd spins up to speed - it can take 20-30 seconds before it actually starts playing. If you stop it and restart it, it returns to where you left off on the cd.Next I tried the radio... I was down in the basement of my home where reception can be a little sketchy, but it didnt seem to have any problem picking up stations clearly and playing with the same sound quality as the cds.Next I tried the bluetooth connection. There's a bluetooth button on the remote and when I hit that, then scanned with my phone, it found it quickly and paired just as it should. I played some tunes on my phone and of course, they played properly on this unit instead. There's no microphone in the unit, so I doubt it could be used as a "speakerphone" type device. On the negative side - as has been stated, there's no cover over the cd playing mechanism, so unless you plan on leaving a cd in the tray, the "business" side of this player could be exposed to dust, atmosphere, etc. The other thing - there's no internal rechargable batteries, or even a place to install regular disposable batteries. That means your only power source is the USB connection. While that seemed to work flawlessly, it also means you couldn't use this anywhere without some kind of a power supply - if you were thinking about taking it camping, for instance - or using it poolside - or on a picnic - if there's no electricity available, you're sol.Overall, I was impressed. It does what it claims to do and seems to do it well. The sound quality is really good for a unit this size. Other than the few shortcomings that I mentioned above, this seems like a solid unit. Those shortcomings (mainly the power supply thing) are the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Junk
Poor quality player--it worked, but glitchy with remote.Lasted less than a year--we only used it about 9 or 10 times the entire homeschool year.

sound is good
This is perfect for my needs. I like listening to cd's from The Great Courses lecture series while I'm weaving cloth. I like that I don't have to get up from my bench if I want to pause playback or adjust the volume. I still have to turn the unit on or off at the base, but that's not a problem. The only issue I have is that the stand that came with it doesn't bend properly. The upright piece is supposed to swing backward so the unit rests against the upper section, but it won't bend. I've tried applying what I think is a reasonable amount of pressure, but it won't budge. I'm avoiding really forcing it for fear of breaking the piece off and then having nothing on which to set the player. So I have it balancing rather precariously against the very top of the upright. Not very sturdy, but do-able. I gave it four stars because of this apparent flaw in design. I attached a side photo showing this. But otherwise, I like the sound quality and functions of the remote. As other have mentioned, there is no covered compartment for the cd, but I knew that when I ordered it so I did not remove stars in my overall rating because of this. I have a small towel that I drape over the player between use to keep the dust off.

Not what I'd hoped it would be
Note: I am updating my review. The seller saw and responded in a very customer -service- friendly manner to my unit that had a non working remote. Product defects are a part of life. When a seller voluntarily makes things right, that’s a seller I’d do business with again! I’ve changed my rating to reflect what is sometimes the most important part of a purchase: customer serviceThis unit was purchased specifically for the remote function. Unfortunately, the remote never did work, even after multiple efforts to hold it just right, etc. etc. etc. Fresh batteries? Check. Within the suggested distance? Check. Near the pull cord? Check. Working? Nope. Having a wall-mounted player without a remote? No thanks...though the exercise would be good for me!I am returning the unit. I might have ordered a replacement unit to see if I could get a working remote control, but the lack of a dust cover was a deal breaker for me. I live in a dusty old house and assumed that in the pixs there was a clear plastic cover that just wasn't visible in the shots. I was incorrect. No cover. I think this is a really bad design--I did find the volume and sound quality to be acceptable ...just didn't have the time to stand by the unit while using it so that I might be able to lower volume or pause the unit to answer phone, talk to family, repeat a section, etc.

A great little device
The media could not be loaded. Having the CD in an unenclosed space may limit the places you can use this, but it's pretty cool watching the cd spin. I love that I can connect my phone through blue tooth and stream music into my kitchen. It doesn't get very loud, but that should be obvious, its a pretty thin device.I also love that it mounts to the wall. Not only that, the mount allows for it to be slid off easily. So if i want to take it to another room I can slide it off and take it with me.It's a surprisingly well thought out device, but the only major con I have is the USB brick. It comes out of the socket horizontally. I really wish it would have been a vertical, cause that cord sticks WAY out from the wall.
