An Intense, Revenge Tinged Older Man/Younger Woman Tale...
While reading Sam Crescent's book, "Daughter's Best Friend" I realized that not only was it the second of a series, but that I had read it backwards! This one, "The Enemy's Daughter" is actually the first book, one that takes you through Bella and Alaric's story and sets the stage for all of the events in book two. However, despite my reading order snafu I was happy to find this one to be an equally sophisticated, far more serious take on the older man/younger woman trope. And unlike Jackson and Rebecca's story, this taboo tale is fiery, passionate, and filled to the brim with anger and angst. Here we are presented with the story of Bella Reed and Alaric "Blue" Patterson. Bella being the twenty-five year old daughter of millionaire business mogul Jackson Reed. A woman secure in her own mind and desires, who lives independently away from her father's "rich people" world. One who chooses a quiet, homespun life, but also a woman mistrustful of men after several harrowing experiences with individuals using her to get to her father. And Alaric, a millionaire businessman in his own right despite being on the losing end of deals involving his rival Jackson Reed. A rivalry so bitter and contentious Alaric dreams of ways to exact revenge after losing out on a deal of a lifetime. A retaliation plan so personal, even his best friend Rex is uncomfortable at the thought of it.What follows is an intensely emotional and highly intriguing tale of broken trust, lashing out, misguided anger, and unexpected truths. Here again Crescent writes a strong, vivacious woman secure in her own sexuality and who knows her own mind. A woman who, unlike the more timid Bella, isn't afraid to want things rough and wild, and who doesn't shy away from telling the men in her life where her boundaries lay. It was a gloriously refreshing step away from the ever present virgins written over and over again in this literary domain and I fully enjoyed watching the push and pull between Bella and Alaric morph and expand with each passing chapter. And although this one is paced a bit faster than Jackson and Bella's book, it still takes its time and affords you the opportunity to relish in every flick of Alaric's tongue, every gasp from Bella's lips, and every angsty moment of uncertainty from both of their souls as they fall deeper and deeper into each other. The chemistry between these two is ferocious and fiery. The revenge driven circumstances, suspenseful and heartpounding. It is a deliciously sinful and heartfelt story world. My only issue with it overall is that it is full of typos! So many in fact that they distract you from the story, at times making you have to stop and reread paragraphs in order to ensure you're understanding things fully as they are intended. Despite the wonderful story it is marred by the spelling, word placement, and tense mistakes throughout. So many in fact I had to wonder if it went through a final proofread or perhaps was instead rushed to publication. Overall, this simmering, sexy tale deserved a more polished final cut. And while I loved the overarching theme of this book, I was left feeling frustrated by the sloppy editing and ultimately unfulfilled at the end.

So great!
I just love this author! She puts so love and hot sex scenes in her story's. In this is about a older business man thinking that another business man was trying to take stocks and business from him so Alaric or (Blue) wanted to get back at the business man by getting his daughter to fall in love with him and breaking her heart. But when he meets Bella he starts falling for her, she has a sweet heart, works at a animal hospital. Not spoiled just her self but has been hurt by men and Blue doesn't know what hit him, everything that he thought was right was wrong in his thinking of what he needed. Loved the ending and hot sensual scenes, would always recommend Sam crescent books!💗

Great book
Another wonderful book by Sam Crescent. The older man/younger woman has always been a turn on for me, but I was glad to see that Bella wasn't some whimpy young woman. When she found out about Alaric lying to her to get back at her dad, she actually made him wait and she thought about things instead of just taking him back. And it was also nice to see that Bella's father really did love her and wasn't a jerk like some fathers are. Totally loved the story and would love to a book with Rex and Nora in it.

Enjoyed this one.
Alaric Patterson is furious that his competitor stole away the contract he was pursuing. Deciding he needs to retaliate, he decides revenge in an unconditional way is the best way to make the man hurt. Alaric pursues Bella Reed, his enemy's daughter.Bella is a full figured beautiful woman, she just doesn't see herself like that. When Alaric expresses interest in her, Bella is expecting the other shoe to drop. Every man she has been involved with has been after her fathers money or some other self confidence kicker that has made Bella weary of getting involved again. What will she do when she finds out Alaric is a facade, even if he claims to truly have feelings for her.Enjoyed this one. Alaric was a jerk, but I think that was how his character was supposed to be and when he meets and spends time with Bella he begins to question himself and his motives. Always a fan of Sam Crescent books.

Alaric is one HOT, SEXY Dude!!
I love Sam Crescent books! As someone who is married to an older man I was looking forward to this book and it di not disappoint. Alaric is one sexy hot guy and I loved that Bella didn't put up with his crap when she found out he lied to her. She made him work to get her back. I could hardly put the book down until I finished; then again all Sam's books are like that. Now I hope we see a book with Rex and Nora.

I usually love Sam Cresent's books but I wasn't a fan of this one. Her female characters are usually very strong but I found Bella too naive. But thank you Sam for writing books where your heroines are strong and curvy!

So beautiful
This is such a wonderful story. It has struck me right in the heart it's so beautiful. I am still smiling. Alaric is a hardcore business man who finds he does have a heart and Bella is a woman who has been hurt in the past who finds her true love. Can't get any better than that. Well done Sam Crescent.
