Billet Aluminum Key Head (for Classic Mercedes-Benz Vehicles)

This item was exactly what I needed for the old MB key. It did fit a tiny bit loose but I just used their advice and put a couple small dabs of thread locker in it and it's good. Works great and I am glad I bought it. It is a bit pricey but in my honest opinion it was worth it. It is billet aluminum with a great finish.

The head on the key for my 82 300D broke. This is a perfect replacement.

Well, this thing is solid, hold the old cedes key perfectly. But there are two tiny screws that hold the thing together. I dropped one and couldn't find it after searching hard. And... there were no extra screws proivided. For $30, the manufacturer should have the forsight and generosity to do so. I now have used heavy wire to wrap around the side where the screw is missing. So far the workaround is holding... but just not very satisfacdtory.

I got tired of replacing my OE plastic key head every 3 months. Found this little gem here and I have to say if you have an older MB with the plastic key head, YOU NEED THIS. Fit my '81 240D's key perfectly. Hoping for more color options for my spare. It is pricey, but I've saved more than the cost in NOT replacing the plastic key head every time it breaks.

If you’ve found this product, it’s probably because you were searching replacements for your already cracked plastic key head. I’ve purchased several plastic replacements from different outlets. They’re all made of the same brittle, waxy plastic. Don’t bother with them. Buy this (check the photos to determine early versus late style). Yes, it seems expensive for what it is, but consider: what would it cost in both time and money if you lost that original key due to the cracked plastic head? This billet head could cost twice what it does and I’d still consider it to be cheap insurance.

I don't usually write reviews however this Key Head is what Mercedes should have made to begin with. It's well made and fit the key perfectly. Sure makes it nice and secure.
