Version 1 and it's a great stable daw
Version 1 and it's a great stable daw. I think a few more features like freeze and track grouping and itll be the best daw. Yeah lots of people compare it to ableton, but it's not ableton at all.. Ableton is great well good but what sets bitwig apart and on top is mainly plug in sand boxing and 32 n 64 bit plug in support n separate audio engine, so if anything crashes the actual host wont crash.. That's a big deal when working on things so not to loose any recent work that has been done. As soon as something crashes you can hit save n then restart the plug in or audio engine . no big deal. Not too mention that ableton cant access more than 4 gig of ram. And I push it to the limits with synths and effects and bitwig can keep up.

Not for Novice
Day one and I don't care for this program at all. It does not find plug-ins, as a word of warning to fellow novices. Not looking forward to fixing the plugin locations and figuring out why the configured ones don't work.Bought it for the new PC and am using my old version of Logic on old mac over this new DAW.

Almost.
Bitwig looks and feels like a blend of Ableton Live and Apple's Logic Pro X. Their GUI, modulation system, unity of audio/midi tracks and cross platform deployment are awesome achievements. Their 1.1 update fixed some important issues and I am pleased with the progress being made. Now if we can just have full Audio Unit support. I'm sure there are a lot of feature in the works. I have over 2,000 Ableton projects on my recording drive and Bitwig has potential to stack up the same amount of work as they keep improving.

Bitwig is a beast.
Ive started making music in 2000 with Fruityloops and Cool edit 1.2 and since then i did moved towards other daws like Cubase, Logic, Ableton... I studied Protools too for an interest. I got degree as a trainer for logic 9 too. It was my favourite daw until Bitwig showed up and yeah, it is a slickest daw on the market. I used to use Protools for mixing but with 1.2 update as Bitwig show up with group tracks i don't remember myself opening Protools or Logic anymore. Its easy to learn and make sense at every aspect. Also it have so many "behind the stage" potentials for creative production like automation out of timeline or modulation of 3rd party plugins (great on fm8). Despite saying all that very top producers use Bitwig now like Deadmau5, Hamilton and even Noisia showed interest in it.It is has some downsides as any other daw but if you are novice to making, mixing music no look further. It will make you be creative and quick on every aspect. The downsides are at programming level and will be fixed as fast as you let them know about it.Another huge leap in daw development is they are fixing their daw "on the go". I myself send them few times a bug and like 2 days later i had it fixed with initial update. They themselves talked to me about bugs and was very supportive._________________So finally, when i opened Fruityloops in 2000 and i felt like at home and made my first tune even i didn't know what i was doing at all. When i opened Bitwig i had the same feeling. It have some limitations and downsides but on the other hands it has some great features that you will not find anywhere else. Also Bitwig is on version 1 yet. I cant see what 2 bring to us. I cant even imaging what tis creative guys can bring to us. If you actually have an great idea email them and they will make it as they are listening to their users carefully..Lets talk about price. Its so much better than other daws appart of Logic. But i will prize this daw lot more than logic too.Pros: Easy, potential, creative, stable, unique, look sexy.Cons: Nothing to mention.

Pretty good software like reason etc
I like this daw too, pretty good[tried the demo] It's very similar to ableton but has a different set of features in comparison.Pattern based and linear handling, has potential.

Bitwig is just beautiful. I spent months learning how to use Cubase and have been blown away by Bitwig's simplicity when it comes to setting things up, navigating the interface and the most important thing of all, recording music. It has all the creative potential of Ableton (with new, innovative features) coupled with the editing power of Cubase. It's constantly being updated and for a DAW at such an early stage of it's evolution it's amazing how it's competing with the others and in my opinion besting them
