Brilliant gloves that do what they are designed to do
My wife wears these when we are trimming the field boundary's which are hawthorn, rose, gorse, nettles and brambles amongst other items. Not once did a thorn or spike manage to penetrate these gloves and because of their length she had no problems with the nettles either. You can find cheaper elsewhere but these are comfortable to wear and realy just do the job.UPDATE: We have now used these gloves regularly over the last few months and they are still as good as new, no damage to them in spite of the brambles and hawthorn. Well worth getting.I would be grateful if you would please let me know if you have found this review helpful.

Great gloves for protecting hands & arms from thorns
Update after two hard seasons of use. These are really standing the test of time. They are grubby, but have not worn through and all seams and stitching are good as new.I would like to buy another pair for use at my holiday home but unfortunately they are out of stock. As soon as they come back into stock, I will be ordering a second pair************A real (good) surprise. A great pair of gardening gloves that protects hands and arms. Protects against thorns, but still flexible enough for nimble use. These gloves are soft and light and fit well. The sleeve part is a little snug, but is flexible to stretch over my forearm. Now to the important part. These gloves are good dealing with small to medium size thorns on things like roses, brambles, gooseberries, etc. but the can't cope with really large thorns on bramble branches one inch or so thick. That is not a criticism, because even the very thick, suede rigger glove struggle to cope with that. The unexpected benefit that I found is that the gloves are so pliable that I can actually do quire dexterous things, like pick fruit from thorny fruit bushes, whereas previously my choice was change from thick gloves that protect against thorns to thin gloves to pick fruit - and then get scratched to pieces.Highly recommended.

Very good quality and value
I'm a gardener by trade. Most thorn proof gloves are badly cut thick suede hobbies, these gloves are very different indeed - They're even far better cut than my standard gardening gloves (I can easily tie my shoe laces up whist wearing them and are now my preferred glove for fidly secateur work on roses/thorns etc). Although not as thorn proof as the thick gloves previously described they're a joy to use for all gardening tasks and the level of protection from the goatskin is very impressive indeed.

Good gloves but NOT thorn proof
These were bought for me but at my choice after I read many of the reviews. They are well made and fit well if a little tight for extra large. They offer good dexterity because of the soft goatskin and the leather does offer some protection to the lower arms. I have only given 3 stars overall because mine are NOT thornproof at all. Bramble and rose thorns penetrate the fingers and palms with ease. I have only given 3 stars for value for the same reason because they are no more thorn resistant than much cheaper gloves. Perhaps I was unlucky because so many reviews were positive for thorn resistance. I have not returned then because I use them when brush cutting and they do offer protection particularly to the forearms from flying debris. Such a shame they did not offer the protection advertised and that I wanted.

Good Protection
I use garden gloves all the time but these Gauntlet gloves are on another level with great protection up to the elbow.Ideal for tackling thorny plants and brambles which will always bite you, also for when trimming conifer hedges avoiding the dreaded 'conifer rash'. They are well made and comfortable and I feel much more confident using these. They are reasonably priced and I think very good value for the money.

Highly thorn proof
Very happy with these. Made cutting thorns in my garden a much much easier job than with regular gardening gloves. Measurements worked out correctly if you follow the guide - I'm male and wouldn't say I have particularly large hands, but was still a size large, so I'd say the sizing is maybe worked out based on female hands (I've been a size small or medium when buying male-specific gloves in the past).

Comfortable & completely protected against brambles
I have some brambles that keep cropping up and the thorns were pushing through all my other types of gardening gloves and some even staying in my skin through the gloves. I tried these on the basis of other good reviews and am very pleased that I did. Nothing has punctured through the leather to my skin and I can garden confidently in them.I purposely chose these with a sleeve as I didn’t want my arms being scratched by brambles and they have completely protected me.They are very comfortable and I definitely I rely still have full co trol if anything I hold, which miGot not be the case with a different type of thick, padded glove. Some other gardening glove also make my hands too hot and can get uncomfortable, I haven’t found that to be the case with these. They are still warm in hot weather because the sleeve comes all the way up my arm, but I have not had to stop doing something to take them off and cool down.I am really pleased with them and are without doubt the best gardening gloves I have owned.

You only get one use out of these gloves
Received them Wednesday 3rd, used them once to weed garden, fingertips wore out straight away and lots of holes.
