Very impressive in 4k HDR
After finishing spiderman with all DLC, I got this used for cheapThe graphics are impressive in 4K with HDR, considering this is a 5 year old gameThe particle effects are even more impressive than spiderman, and the lighting with neon stuff everywhere seems nicer tooOn the other hand, spiderman has a much bigger world, with a lot more detail and a lot more people and carsOne thing I love about infamous is the karma, you can do good things or bad thingsCombat is nowhere near spiderman or batman, but I love that you mix it up with shooting from far, makes for a change.Story seems great so far and I love that you have to refill your powers, and I love the way you unlock powers, by searching the world, better than spiderman where upgrades are automatic by completing side missions.Loadings are fastOne thing I don't like is the use of motion controls.Overall I rate this game high because it impressed me for a 5 year old game, I've been on xbox for a while so this one is another great game I missed, definitely better than Sunset overdrive on xbox which was ridiculous nonsense.

Fun game, fast Platinum trophy.
I bought this game predominantly for the purposes of trophies, I needed it to play a few of the arena modes in inFAMOUS: First Light (which I had as one of the free PSN games.)After doing that I then proceeded to play through this game. It is very enjoyable to play through, and is another game that is great for trophies, there are a lot to collect to keep you interested, and they are not overly difficult (overall quite an easy platinum trophy game.)In terms of replay value, there isn't a great amount - you will probably end up playing through it once doing everything and then a second time playing as the opposite karma to see the other side of the story and the other abilities. After this (if you did everything along the way) there won't really be anything else to do other than just repeating things you have already done. For the price however this game is (as I say) very enjoyable and is also a great addition for any trophy collectors out there. Anybody who is looking for a game that will give them weeks of playing and endless content - this is probably not for you. For Β£17 though in my opinion, you can't really go wrong with this.

Enjoyable but short
An interesting and honourable addition to the inFAMOUS franchise. The Story:Seven years after the conduit crisis that left both Empire City and New Marais in devastation, Delsin Rowe, a twenty-something delinquent from a native American tribe just outside of Seattle, finds himself caught in the crosshairs of a fight between a conduit and the D.U.P, a government based operation known as "the department of unified protection" which focuses on capturing, enslaving and ultimately using conduits (humans who have obtained incredible powers over various elements) as weapons. During the chaos that ensues, Delsin learns he himself is a conduit when he accidentally absorbs the powers of the conduit on the run, leaving him what either could be a 'curse' or a 'gift' to control the power of smoke. Ultimately, Delsin's choice to not walk away from the fight leads to terrible consequences for his tribe that only one person is capable of rectifying...unfortunately it means absorbing her powers in order to reverse the damage. Delsin and his older brother Reggie (a cop) leave for Seattle determined to take down the D.U.P with the intent to rectify everything that has been done. The Gameplay:Anyone who has played the previous games in the inFAMOUS series will probably know what to expect when it comes to this instalment but for those new to the series, let me clue you in. In a moderately sized open world, you will be given free reign to access main missions, side missions and various events that move the story and your character progression along. You'll be given a wide range of powers to have at your disposal as you play Delsin, neon laser beams, smoke bombs and powers of flight and invisibility are just some of the gifts you'll have at your disposal, giving you, the player, the chance to be a virtual superhero.Unlike most games of this calibre, inFAMOUS gives the player the option to make moral decisions based on various situations and events and these decisions ultimately have consequences on how other things can play out later in the game. You can be 'good', a paragon of virtue and nobility, helping heal people, taking down enemies without needing to take violent measures, and by trying to avoid civilian casualties, or you can be an absolute infamous wrecking ball who carves a path of destruction in every direction, taking down civilians, enemies, and destroying everything in Delsin's path. Deciding whether to be "good" or "bad" can open up slightly different directions the story may go in, can change the attitudes of not only the civilians in the street (non playable characters) but the other supporting characters in the story (such as Reggie, or Fetch). Not only does your alignment shift gradually with your actions, but your alignment gives you access to different types of powers which can either make it easier to subdue or devastate (depending on your choices). This gives the game a whole new level of re-playability as you can go through one game play good, the next bad, not to mention trying to complete the game on all modes of game play (easy, medium, hard, etc).As with most open world games of this type, you can expect collectibles (shards, which you can exchange for powers), side missions and random events scattered throughout Seattle. These prolong the gameplay as the main storyline itself is quite quick to complete on it's own.Graphics:I have to say this is by far one of the most stunning games I've played to date, with beautiful colours of a Seattle autumn, the city seems to be stuck in a somewhat almost permanent state of Sunset (my only real gripe with the game), and the lighting and rendering is phenomenal making you feel as if you really are visiting Seattle. Character rendering is beautiful, the expressions and subtle little details like freckles and moles make them all the more lifelike. The attention to detail in minor things like fabric is incredible giving you the sense of you know what is wool, what is denim, and so on (this might seem unimportant, but it makes the game feel all the more immersive somehow and really stands out in ways I can't explain). The visual effects for conduit powers are out of this world, neon powers especially (at night time, the neon powers looked phenomenal but there was hardly any 'night time' play). The blasts, the smoke effects for example are highly detailed with varying degrees of shading and tiny orange embers and sparks. My Experience:I highly enjoyed the game, but it felt very rushed, and was all over rather quickly. It felt like, unlike with the previous two games (I'm not counting the stand alone "Festival of Blood" or "First Light") there was a lack of real proper storyline mission in this and even the side missions and activities felt rather limited and quick to complete. There are, as usual, bad and good activities to participate in to help your alignment along (although some of them seemed odd to me - such as being able to take down drug dealers for "good" karma, but taking down Russian gangsters who attack conduits is "bad" - this didn't make any sense to me). The gameplay itself was rather easy and straightforward, aiming freehand without a "snap to" (like in games like GTA for example) is a bit tricky but you get the hang of it (if you've played the other games, you'll already be well used to this).I really miss there being day and night cycles. The events of Second Son seemed to more or less all take place during sunset, which is slightly disappointing as there was a lot of opportunity to show the world lit up with stunning colours, especially given all the neon lighting in the game. The lack of day and night cycles make the game feel as if it's supposed to all be happening within the space of a few hours rather than days, which again, makes the game feel shorter in length somehow, makes it seem rushed in a way.The battles with other conduits felt a little too easy for my liking; in the older games, the conduits had varying degrees of difficulty to beat (like the ice conduits and leviathans in InFAMOUS 2 or the kamikaze conduits in the first game, different powers and abilities requiring variation in player tactics to take enemies down. There was very little variation in how battles were played out, as you could more or less almost always subdue all enemies by running around throwing sulphur bombs or using status bubbles. You had very little need for tactics really. All in all an enjoyable game, but I think this could have had much more content and a much longer gameplay experience. When you compare this to games like Assassins Creed Unity (which took me a month to complete of daily gameplay) or Grand Theft Auto, there was a lot of potential to make this a lasting experience with a lot to fill player time. This is really good for about three or four days gameplay and not much else. To be honest the "First Light" instalment of the franchise felt as if it lasted just as long as this "full game", which doesn't really reflect the asking price I've seen it for (anything over Β£25 is far too much to pay for this, I'm sorry to say).I had high hopes but it fell slightly short of the mark. Hopefully the next sequel has far more content and is much more engaging.

Boring and shallow.
This game just barely has a plot. It's just enough to provide the occasional break between the very repetitive filler that makes up most of the game. However, it wasn't enough to sustain my interest beyond about a third of the way through the game. The action itself is very simplistic. It's little more than running around blasting people. The lack of a cover system gives it a fairly old fashioned feel. Initially it's fun but there's no real depth to the gameplay. As you progress you'll unlock a few different power styles (Smoke, Neon, Video, Concrete) but beyond looking different they don't really alter the gameplay in any meaningful way. Ultimately inFAMOUS: Second Son is a bit of a drag.

Amazing graphics and fun to have superpowers.
I've been wanting this game since it first came out and got it as a present from my partner. It's an amazing game and great graphically, it really met all my expectations. I found the game simple to grasp although I'm not new to gaming and do play a lot of games. The story line is very interesting and really enjoyable. The super power is very cool. The only downside is that the game is very fast paced and I completed it very quickly. The game allows little freedom at the beginning as with most games, I had a mission but decided that I would go around and take down all the towers and investigate, only to find I failed the mission. I found the best way to unlock the powers is to play it once through as good and once as evil, if you go down the middle you can't unlock them all.
