Fastfire: Generates a sustained, 1300°F flame in just seconds. Burns even when WET. Wind resistant. Smokeless and odorless. Ignites easily from a spark or any flame. Very low flashpoint (140°F). Lights under conditions where other tinders would fail. Each tinder is packaged using a rugged, high quality foil that guarantees long shelf-life and durability. Solid cubes don't leak, spill or foul up your other gear. Left whole, one cube will burn vigorously for 10-minutes. If divided into eighths, eight separate fires may be generated, with each tinder piece burning 2 - 3 minutes each. Once extinguished, Fastfire material cools to the touch within seconds. Big, but good.
Compared with other tinder options, this seems to be the one to have fro an emergency. There are smaller and lighter tinder solutions (fast-fire is BIG compared with others) that work fine when dry or a touch damp. these solutions have failed me in the field when soaking wet. I have not experienced this with fast-fire.When you absolutely positively have to have it work "out of the box", then this is it.In general, I would break them up into smaller chunks to last longer as it's meant to be tinder to get a fire going, not an Esbit tablet to cook a meal on!

Work much better than Wetfire Fire Starter
I purchased these after seeing a Youtube video on them. I was skeptical because I had used the "Wetfire" brand and was not all that impressed with the product. However, I can say the FastFire brand works MUCH better than the other brands. Not only are they easy to light, they produce a long lasting, hot fire that makes it easy to get your smaller tinder started easily. They are a little bulkier than the Wetfire brand but they work much better. I highly recommend them.

Does as it says
Cheap, works well, and last for quite awhile. I keep one in my daily bag and a couple in my camp/BoB bag. They are alittle chunky, so you may find it difficult just throwing them in a small pocket. But hey, they work as good as you can hope it can.

Get it if you are an outdoors person or just need a fire going...LOVE IT
Best ever...great for starting fires at a BBQ to get your coals going...love it.... All you need is a small piece and you are good to go.
