Scotty #279-BK Baitcaster/Spinning Rod Holder without Mount, Black

I put 3 of these on my BassBandit. They hold up very well. Easy to manuever around into different positions or angles.

This is a great fishing rod holder for your kayak the only downfall to buying this holder is you also have to purchase a scotty universal track mount piece it works with all scotty products but it's an added cost to the rod holder but I actually like this holder better than the yak attack holders they don't seem to be as sturdy in the track

I love Scotty rod holders. These things are sturdy and versatile. I fish from a kayak and have two mounted one in the front and one behind. The Scotty rod holders secure my gear and allow me to concentrate on river navigation without having to worry about my rods. They easily disconnect from my boat for transportation, no tools needed.

I really like these and find the very sturdy and well made. I little on the expensive side when you factor in the cost to by an extender and other options. They are simple to install when you properly align the tab. I would buy again. The boat I purchased already had the female receptacles installed so choosing another brand wasn't really cost effective. It would be nice to see a cup holder designed to hold both a cup and cell phone at the same time (2 in 1).

Nice and sturdy. My only issue with it is that I can't quite figure out how to set the strap to hold down the rod.I did get spoiled the other day while trolling and the rod stayed in place either way, so that eases a bit my nervousness about not being able to strap down the rod.The other thing is that if you want to change the position of it, it's a bit a of hassle to lift so you can turn it, since it tends to get stuck once it's down in place.In any case, I'm very happy with my purchase and I love the sturdiness of the product and how it looks.
