Killer Sound!
We got this for my band's bass player, upgrading to DiMarzio's from a "Generic Far-East/Asia Made" set with an built-in pre-amp; although volume is a little lower, this double humbuckers made an abysmal improvement on the sound. The sound is far more clearer and organic than any other pickup of this configuration I've ever heard, and it has a really nice punch that I cannot describe in words.We installed them along with the DiMarzio DP148 Ultra Jazz Bridge (ASIN:B0009N5VLQ) -second picture- using standard P-Bass wiring with CTS pots, and the combination its mind-blowing. Great if you are using fuzz effects.

Total Tonal Control. I wired em up like a humbucker so I can fade the lows & highs, depending on what I need..

Solid and Punchy
I put this in my 1980 made in japan squire p bass. This is a really nicely made squire but needed better sound so I took a chance bassed on reading other reviews. Been really happy with the sound. nice solid bottom and a lot more punchy than the stock pickups. I had some problem with feedback playing through a older ampeg because these pickups are so hot but no problem with my hartke.
