Great film! I had heard about it and was glad that I could find it. Mine was subtitled and had no problems.

Very sexy mexican comedy about male strippers and their stories! There is alson a few female strippers in this movie! The guys are latin and sexy as hell!!!

I orderd this DVD because it said it had subtitles, when I received it and began to watch it I quickly learned other wise. The DVD did not have subtitles. The case for the DVD said there were subtitles but there were no such thing, or any sort of opption allowing you to add them. I was really looking forward to watching this documentary and was very disponited in my purchase.

This documentry takes you in the world of the gangs that we do not know, it is very brutal how they live and how differnt the gangs in latin america are compare to the united states, its very real and sad.

Looks like it would have been a good movie if it had subtitles. I dont speak spanish so it was of no use to me.

Bought the DVD, it claims to have the english subtitles which do not exist and cannot be turned on. There is no menu where they can be turned on and you cannot do it with the remote controller. A pity because I heard that the movie is excellent!

Der Film hat mich sehr aufgewühlt. San Salvador, die Kinder, die dort einfach ins Leben geworfen werden und keiner will sie. Sie haben nicht die geringste Chance auf ein einigermaßen normales Leben, auf Arbeit oder Anerkennung. Sie sind heimatlos und so wundert es auch nicht, daß sie sich der Gang der Mara Salvatrucha oder der Mara 18 anschließen. Die Gangs werden zu ihrer Familie, aber nicht einer, die Sicherheit bietet. Sie leben nur von Tag zu Tag, weil sie nicht wissen, wielange sie überhaupt leben. In den Kämpfen der Gangs untereinander verliert jeden Tag einer sein Leben. Der Film rüttelt auf und macht extrem deutlich, was passiert, wenn die Politik und die Gesellschaft sich nicht um diese Straßenkinder kümmert und Armut und Hoffnungslosigkeit keinen anderen Weg zulassen, als den in die Gewalt der völligen Aussichtslosigkeit.

Un documentario sulle periferie disastrate di San Salvador, capitale devastata dalla violenza perversa delle maras. Una testimonianza storica su uno dei più drammatici fenomeni criminali del mondo che il regista Christian Poveda ha pagato con la propria vita. Un capolavoro inspiegabilmente rimasto senza distribuzione in Italia ma che di sicuro merita una sorte postuma migliore. Purtroppo disponibile solo nella versione originale, senza sottotitoli in italiano. Consigliatissimo. Irrinunciabile.

Un documentaire réaliste, authentique sur la Mara 18 gang rival de la Mara Salvatrucha. Une vue privilégiée étant donné que C.Poveda, le réalisateur, a pu suivre pendant 1 an le quotidien de neuf de ses membres (dont 7 mourront pendant le tournage), filmer leurs joies, leurs peines, leurs situation familiale faite de drame et d'abandon, leur code d'honneur. Des hommes, des femmes faisant partie d'une génération perdue dont l'espérance de vie dépasse à peine les 21 ans et qui ne sait pas vraiment pourquoi ils sont en guerre. Le gang est leur famille, la raison de vivre un jour de plus..Les bonus sont tout bonnement excellents (plus de deux heures), très complets et expliquent très bien l'origine de cette guerre et plus encore.Deux documentaires sur l'assassinat de C.Poveda,"Envoyé Spécial" et "L'effet papillon", agrémentent ce double DVD indispensable à qui veut essayer de comprendre.

Un bel documentario, da vedere.
