Tennis: The Man in the Mirror
Frustrated with your tennis game at times? Frustrated with yourself? Your opponent? Not having fun? Not sure exactly what to focus on in a match? Or what your kids should be focusing on? This is the book for you and your life outside of tennis as well. Our preoccupation with a hyper competitive, egotistical approach to sports truly lacks an overall core philosophy that we can rely upon to help us perform freely in the moment. Unlike other books, there are simple exercises that can easily be remembered and applied instantly to your game and mental approach. The solutions to playing with fear, anxiety, and anger are brilliant in their originality and ease of application. Overall the book is perfect for coaches, parents, and players of all sports who think that trying harder is always the answer. A classic for learning to relax, have fun, perform better, and play in the zone.

Fun book. A zen/mindful approach to tennis
Fun book. A zen/mindful approach to tennis. Basically enjoy tennis. It's been done before but this is succinct. I think the book is barely 20 pages long.My only complaint is that it is overpriced for such a small book.I wish the rules had more written about each one just to ingrain them in my brain more.

Yes, excellent golden rules that do help you to play your best tennis!
Basic and short but very good high level thoughts to keep in your mind to help you play your best tennis. Anyone who plays a lot of tennis has most likely experienced the mental aspect of tennis which can affect your quality of play so greatly. After reading this book, I had a completely different view on playing the game and actually did play better after reading this book! I took just the titles of each golden rule and made a list which I entered into the Notes app on my iPhone, I then read the list every time before I play. Very helpful.

but I enjoyed everything I read
It was much shorter than I expected, but I enjoyed everything I read. I guess it's good if a book leaves you wanting more. To help you assess my review I am 47 years old and just started tennis lessons about 8 weeks ago, prior to that I had almost no tennis experience.

Excellent! Inspiring reading for anyone of any age who plays tennis!
Sally, I LOVE this book. I have struggled with depression for many years, and find this to be inspirational. I will be re-reading it over and over. I will also be reading some of your other books too. You are an amazing person. I've been to the La Jolla women's senior nationals once, and if I ever get there again I would love to meet you and thank you in person for this book.Love and happiness,Linda R.

An additional, unrelated book, was inserted into the middle of the book I ordered.
This product was supposed to be a stocking stuffer for my son this Christmas. However, I will be returning it as it came with a second, separate book, called "Les Principes de la Philosphie" by Rene Descartes inserted into the middle of the tennis book I ordered. It's not like I got two books for the price of one either... the second book is in a completely different language and I can't read it! My son certainly won't be able to read it either! So curious how this happened?

Too short
Poor value for money. Can be read in 5 minutes. Tips were OK, but not much detail. Wished I hadn't spent my money.
