To do the work they are supposed to do - to scare off the birds, the pinwheels, I suppose, should start rotating even under a light breeze. But they are not! It requires a pretty strong wind to make them turn. And, ironically, the birds don't tolerate such wind anyway and don't bother my blueberries when it blows! The second flaw in design is that the pinwheels don't follow the direction of the wind. So, they rotates only if the wind blows from the specific direction. The last (and the least important flaw) is that the plastic sticks the pinwheels are attached to must be pointed on the bottom to make easier to insert them into the ground. They should also be a bit longer for better stability.

Yes, these are appealing pinwheels. Yes, they spin "ok" (not great). However, they did NOT scare our birds away from the blueberries, not even a tiny bit of fear from them! They started spinning in the wind and the birds swooped down to gorge on the berries. I think they enjoyed them actually. Complete and total waste of $$.

It gets 2 stars because it does actually turn into a spinner when assembled. However, it doesn't spin well in the wind. They bind up and don't work well at all. If you put them in a flower vase to watch them idly, their great. Not so great outside if you expect them to spin and/or scare away pests like woodpeckers. Save your money and move on. Or donate the money you would spend on these to charity because it would go to better use.

Trying to keep my chickens from hopping our fence. These pinwheels are too stiff; they don’t turn unless there’s a 30 mph wind so they are completely ignored.

These were expensive and I thought because of the price they would be better made. Pretty cheap when putting together. Didn't do anything to keep the birds from doing their business all over the railings. Fell apart with not much wind.

These pinwheels are are just “meh.” They are thin and not especially sturdy. We will see how useful they are..My biggest complaint is two of the plastic pins (used in the center of the pinwheel) arrived broken, rendering these two pinwheels useless. Disappointing...

The package said there was 10. I received 9 total. There was 4 ( not assembled )in the box which read 10, plus 6 assembled out side of box squished in a Safeway grocery bag, very unprofessional looking, and squished out of shape,oddly shaped.

Using with fake snakes to keep birds out of blueberries. Does the job, but you do have to change them around every few days as birds wise up.
