Beware! These rings will cut your tippet!
I ordered the smallest size. The wire on the rings I ordered is not round but flat. When I fished with it, I lost several large fish to break offs. At first I thought I had tied my knot wrong, but after several break offs using using tried and true knots, I started doubting my tippet. After testing my tippet on a hook eye, then on the leader ring, I realized that the leader ring was easily the issue. I lost a lot of good fish on a trip that I spent a lot of money to go on. Don't buy these.

Cuts the leader
Tied one on a 3x tapered leader with clinch knot, lubricated normally. When tightening, the pull felt "rough", and gentle pull broke the knot. I repeated several times, and it always broke. I did the same with a Rio tippet ring I bought at same time, and it held just fine. These are either sharp or rough on the inside surface, but in either case I can't trust them.

Cut every line I tied to it!
These were by far the worst Tippett rings I have ever owned. I might as well have taken my line and flies and thrown them in the water. Every line that I attach one of these rings to cut through with just a small amount of pressure. I tried several different rings and several lines because I thought I may have gotten a bad ring or a bad section of line but I have the same conclusion with everyone I tried. I spend well over 100 days a year on the water so I’m experienced enough to know when I’ve purchased a faulty product.

Makes blood knots obsolete!
I use these when my tapered leader starts getting short because of fly changes. I can tie on as much tippet as I need and when it comes time to add more, it's as simple as clipping off the small section and applying a new section with a simple improved clinch knot. Much easier than tying blood knots while on the stream, and cheaper than buying a bunch of new tapered leaders.I've landed several fish using these, and I've never had one break or cause any issues. They don't affect casts or cause any added line drag.I would advise tying the leader butt to the ring before taking it off of its clip. Makes it much easier, and you're less likely to lose them that way. Tight lines!

You’ll never land a fish using these...
These tippet rings will cut your leader. No question. At first I suspected it was my knots as I am a notoriously bad knot tier . However, on the same day of fishing with both my nymph rod & dry fly rod, I netted 5 fish on dries & broke off the only 3 fish that hit my nymphs. I wonder if I can return the unopened package.

I would highly recommend them and will buy from them again
I honestly thought that I was sent an empty snap swivel without tippet rings but after checking with The Fly Crate Customer Service Department, they suggested I look a little closer and when I did, I noticed that all 10 tippet rings were indeed present. So you know - the 2 mm tippet rings are very tiny and almost invisible to the naked eye so check closely when your package arrives. My experience is this - The Fly Crate who sells this Holly Flies product is very professional and are sincere about pleasing and helping their customers. They also sell top quality products. Therefore, I would highly recommend them and will buy from them again.

Rings fine, holder not.
The tippet rings are fine, but the snap clip they come on is too large of a diameter to pass a 5X tippet thru, which is the best way to get the ring on the tippet and pull it off the snap clip. They should use a smaller gage holder.

Very happy with both the company and the purchase as a ...
Bought these for my fly fishing father. They emailed me a handy little usage guide, which I passed on to my dad, whose been fly fishing for over 30 years, and he was thrilled to learn some new tips and tricks for tippet rings. Very happy with both the company and the purchase as a result.
