With My Eyes Wide Open: Miracles and Mistakes on My Way Back to KoRn

You gotta check this book out! God rocks!
Awesome book that I couldn't put down. God spoke to me personally through this book so many times...I was like, "no way, this is crazy." My sister-in-law has a prophetic gift, and she spoke to me a few days ago about what God wants me to know, and it was confirmed to me as I read Brian's book. This book brought back some great memories. I was at the Carolina Rebellion Concert in 2012, and I saw Head come out to play with KoRn. It was so cool to hear how it all went down behind the scenes. There were so many great bands out there, but for me, P.O.D. killed it. I felt so much love and peace when they played. I was worshiping God at a rock concert for the first time as I sang along with Sonny. It was awesome.Oh, back to the book. There were lots of LOL moments, lots of sadness and sorrow, lots of "light at the end of the tunnel" moments, but the parts I enjoyed the most were Brian's description of the shekinah glory of God he experienced...that overwhelming, undeniable presence of God's love surrounding you. I have experienced this a few times, but the first time was like this: I was in a scary place emotionally, full of uncertainty, asking God, "What's going on? What do I do? Help me, Father." In that moment, God assured me it was going to be okay by surrounding me with this overwhelming peace that came out of nowhere. I was driving down the road, full of worry and panic, then the clouds literally opened up and this warm beam of light shot out and flooded my car with light. I was enveloped with pure peace and love, and everything was glowing. I looked over at my wife and she looked at me with this beautiful smile on her face. She said, "I love you." I told her that I loved her too, and I knew God was wrapping his arms around us and telling us, "Don't be afraid. I am your God, and I love you." Tears started streaming down my face...tears of joy, peace, and thankfulness. I'm pretty sure that is what heaven is like when we are in His presence.I know God is using Brian and Jennea's testimony to speak into people's lives through this book and show them the path to salvation and a life that is abundant, a life with purpose and fulfillment. That path is Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. Don't believe me? I dare you to surrender your life to Him, pick up your cross, and follow Him. If you think you have it all figured out, you may never get to experience His overwhelming peace and love. He is the only connection/mediator between humanity and the Father of all creation. Don't have faith? Ask for it. Are you tired of the same old cycle of sin or addiction? Ask the Holy Spirit into your heart to change you from the inside out. Ask your Father to open your eyes to the truth, in the name of Jesus Christ. You can't do it, but He can. Trust in that.

A modern day Saul/Paul transformation told in gripping detail. Raw and real. A "must read" for all ages and walks of life!
I was a conservative, angry mom whose teenager went to see KoRn with her dad, my ex, years ago in Dallas. Now I'm glad she went so we could follow Brian's journey! She later told me that she had heard that Brian became a Christian, and I thought that was great, and then I remember the first time I saw his I Am Second video, and I was weeping and couldn't wait to share it. Now to read this incredible autobiography written so honestly and openly...all I can say is THANK YOU to Brian. His words are filled with hope for a hurting world, as he's so transparent about his shortcomings, addictions, failures, disappointments, screw-ups and triumphs--all written from a purely grateful heart sealed by God's overwhelming, redemptive gift of grace. It's clear that Brian's heart is pure, he loves Jesus, and he loves everybody--especially his daughter, Jennea. I'm so thankful that they are willing to share their journey with us.My daughter who went to that concert years ago is now 24 and works with troubled youth who can certainly relate to Jennea. I could not wait to give her this incredible book so she can read it and share it with them and with the other counselors. I can't wait to share this book with as many people as I can. Thank you, Brian "Head" Welch for sharing your story here and on social media. This is one of the best books I have ever read.

Head's message to Millennials
I have always loved Korn and when I was selected to review this I was super EXCITED! I have been a Korn fan since I was a little kid rocking out to Shoots and Ladders (I had an awesome older sibling!). Brian "Head" Welch, was the original guitarist for the bad and left the band when he got sober to raise his daughter. The book's main focus is Brian's journey as a new Christian and recovering addict. It is a very down to Earth presentation of the ups and downs that come with turning your life around.I really did enjoy the book. Head's voice was real, down to earth, and even though he admitted to many mistakes in the book he definitely handled it with integrity. I think that anyone who is trying to turn their life around, a new Christian, a recovering addict, or just your average joe, can benefit from this book. Mainly because when an addict becomes sober and or when a person is trying to improve their relationship with the God of their understanding; it is a difficult road that most give up on before they reach the finish line. Everyone can benefit from hearing an open and honest representation oh what turning your life around is really like! I also commend him for being so open to share it with the world.I also think that as a millennial, this book is very relate-able. You see Head's daughter (Jennea), went through a lot of similar problems as most of the people in our generation. It is really awesome to see both parties (millennial and parent) taking personally responsibility. I also loved hearing about the mission work that Head and other members of Korn. It is a short read, its a little over 200 pages. But it if you are a reader, you will definitely finish it in a few days.

Awesome!
What can I say? This book is à 10/10. Made me cry, laugh. ..everything! It will encourage you to persevere in your search for God or for those who already found Him, to get closer and trust Him more in the midst of your struggles...At least that's what it has done for me! Jennea and Brian are such beacons of hope and I'm so grateful for the fact that they decided to share such an intimate journey with us 🙌🙏💜💪
