China Knock-off Versus Authentic Mexican
This Chinese made "Mexican" Serape didn't stand up well when compared to the authentic Mexican Serape I previously bought on Amazon. The photos pretty much tell it all. The size of the China Serape is smaller than the seller advertises. I measured just over 78 inches - its is supposed to be 84". The width also fell short by 3 inches. The authentic Mexican serape measured true to advertised size. The noticeable difference is the quality of fabric and the color. The China serape color looks really cheap, dull and faded, like it sat out in the sun for a few years, where the Mexican serape has bright, beautiful, vivid color and a nice quality look and feel. The Mexican serape fabric is tightly woven, full and soft - China's fabric is thin and flat. You can really see the difference in volume when the two are rolled up next to each other. The Mexican serape looks twice the size as China's. When it comes to price, I paid almost $8 less for China's. I would have given some stars on price here if the quality was anywhere near acceptable - but in my opinion, it was pretty much trash. We all know that when it comes to copying authentic products, no one beats China. This one is way to poor quality to compete. Also, one look at this blanket is all it takes to make one think that all the glowing 5-star reviews on this product seem pretty suspicious.

Great tablecloth for outdoor use!
I recently took this on a camping trip and it help up great and looked adorable. We had a lot of wind so I used tablecloth anchors to keep it in place, but I left it out the whole time we were there and despite the fact that the picnic table at our site was rather old it didn’t get any snags. It looks like a serape or Mexican falsa but it is not a traditional blanket. It is actually a thin, tightly woven tablecloth so it’s not something that will really keep you warm or cushion you at yoga class, but it does have a nice drape and looks great at the campsite, beach, as party decor, etc. I washed mine in cold water and tumbled dry low when we got home with no fading or shrinking. I opened the machine while it was agitating and there was no dye transfer into the water so I was able to wash it with other household linens with no problems. It also doesn’t pill or shed the way some blankets do. Highly recommended.

Art, functionality and durability at an affordable
It’s a work if folkloric art: vibrant color palette and delicate weave. Very pleased

It's a fake
I purchased this same blanket a year ago. It was quality. We wanted a second one. It's a knock off. It's smaller. The colors are faded. The material is not appropriate and it's 50% thinner. Don't buy. They are selling fakes. This is not a Mexican blanket.

56 x 79 after washing cold and air-drying
I love the colors and cottony feel of this lightweight blanket. It had creases from being packaged, but mostly, it had a strange smell, kind of like a deep mold smell, that was bothering me. I didn't want to put it on my furniture without washing it.I put in the washer on a cold soak and then a cold rinse cycle, adding a tiny amount of biodegradable soap.It washed up nice and is much softer.I measured the blanket before the wash: it was 60 x 80After the cold wash and line-drying, it was 56 x 79.If I had washed warm and tumble-dried, I expect it would shrink even more.I would buy it again because I love the pattern and it is inexpensive.Edit: with the fringe, the dimensions are a little bigger on the long side, but I didn't measure the fringe at all, just the fabric part.

Mexican blanket made in China
Product is more true green than teal like the picture. Not as thick as I would have thought. Also, how is this blanket Mexican when it was made in China??

This is cheap, not like serapes from Mexico or southwest USA.
Not what I expected. This is Asian made and scratchy stiff, very thin material. If you’re expecting something like you’d get in Mexico or the southwest in the USA this is not it. This is best a tablecloth, or wall hanging.

Good colours
It is very thin and had loads of Brown fluff stuck to it which looked like the kind of thing that accumulates during the manufacturing process, it came in a plastic bag, Took me about 15 minutes to get all the smeared fluff off it, then it looked presentable. I gave it to my son who liked it. I also gave him cash, which I think he liked more… that’s not the blanket’s fault, it’s not expensive and looks good.

Serape design but made in China, not Mexico
Had a good laugh when I received it! It's more like a party tablecloth than a woven Hispanic serape, because it's a cotton-polyester machine woven piece made in China. Not that it can't be used. But it's nothing like any of the woven ones from Mexico. It's thin and light: perfect as props, party dressing, and such. Still, for its colours and look, I didn't regret getting it.
