Well so far I'm very happy with the book if it wasn't for all the mistakes!!
For starters this is the only Kyrgyz book I found in the whole internet, in German there wasn't even a single one so I had to try in English. For that reason I am rather glad that there is at least one book to help me learn Kyrgyz. Things are explained well. But there is a huge complaint I have to make...The book is filled with mistakes! Since I don't speak Kyrgyz I cannot say anything about the grammar, but I can only imagine the errors hidden there. There are typos on almost every page I read so far. Now this wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for these typos or copy paste mistakes to also ruin the grammar section. If a reader is not attentive he will likely learn the language with these mistakes. One example is on page 17 and 18. Here the book categorizes the Kyrgyz vowels into 4 rounded and 4 unrounded ones. On page 18 referring to these vowels the book suddenly calls all 8 vowels unrounded. The distinction between unrounded and rounded is crucial (according to the book!) to understand the language. If it's so crucial why don't you get it right then???? The reader is in this case still able to correct the errors himself, but this is truly an amateur mistake. Proofreading your book is one of the most basic rules prior to publishing it, especially in grammar and language books! I am sure I will learn several things wrongly from the beginning thanks to those errors.Still this book has the potential if it wasn't for that and since it's currently the only one out there I'll take it and I think one can still learn the language good enough.
