Wonderful & thorough history of Marvel Animation.
Only 2 things that held me from giving it 5 stars is that I wish it were: 1) printed as a hardcover on better quality paper and 2) that the entire series should've been covered instead of having to wait for another volume. This is also true of the companion book series of the "Marvel Super Heroes" TV show which featured only the Iron Man episodes as Book 1 (in hopes for more books to complete the series on Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Sub-Mariner). My concern is if the first volumes of these books do not perform well enough, will the rest of the series of books be discontinued, leaving us with incomplete collections. Nevertheless, any Marvel and Animation fan will enjoy the 2 books released so far as they are a terrific overview of Marvelmania's Silver Age on TV.

Great book on a classic show
Like many people I grew up with this show and have loved it since I was a kid never thinking about how much went into putting it together. Though I saw the credits I never made the connection that was originally produced by one company, Grantray-Lawrence and then later by a second company, Krantz Films. This book covers the episodes produced by Grantray-Lawrence and includes an episode guide for these episodes and lots of behind the scenes material like story boards and layouts and lots of color images from the show. The image quality in this book is very good. If your a fan of the show and you don't have this book you really need to get it. You will not regret it.

A must-own for fans of Spidey, animation and the '67 animated series!
This is an incredible book. Amazon's "look inside" feature doesn't even scratch the surface of what's here. Each episode is analyzed in depth, with high quality images from the show, and astonishing archival material such as storyboards, model sheets, and correspondence - some with notes from Stan "The Man" Lee himself. The paper quality is very nice, and it is all presented professionally - I did not find one spelling or grammatical mistake in the text. Do not sleep on this one, Spider-fans! This great book belongs in your collection! Highly recommended!

Excellent Book
I would love to know when volume 2 of this book is coming out?I'm a big fan of the Spider-Man 1967 series, as are a number of friends in my circle, as such this book is awesome. I think the strongest elements are the reproductions of original primary source documents: concept art, musical score, print advertisements, storyboards, script pages. In what seems to be a labour of love the author reviews and analyses each episode. My only criticism of the book is that the author should really make more distinct paragraphs in the episode review sections. The large blocks of text in this section of the book are noticeable and unfortunately do detract and make it harder to read. Apart from that I would give this book 5 stars. It would also be nice to get more info on the voice actors and the production of the voice recordings for this series. The author suggests at the end of this book that some of this info may be in volume 2, and I would definitely like to know more about this. The voices in this series were quite distinctive, but there's not much in the book about how or where they recorded, how long it took to do an episode, if they recorded their lines together, photos of the production, equipment they used, editing process, bios of the actors themselves.

FABULOUS BOOK
I was expecting the usual fan written book with all text and no pictures but this book delivers on all fronts. It's a great book and practically the only word on the 1967 series. I do hope they skip the dreadful Krantz toons that followed the first lot and skip to the live action show. Most of the Krant toons were episodes of Rocket Robin Hood with Spiderman clumsily added (bar the superb origin episode). A sequel to this book is long overdue. Includes over 500 colour stills

Interessantissimo.
Un libro ricco di immagini e di spiegazioni esaustive inerenti la serie Tv del 1967 dedicata a Spider-man. Gli autori hanno saputo risvegliare in me vecchi, bellissimi ricordi.

A Great Book For Fans Of The Show
I was delighted to come across this book as there is literally nothing for the 1967 animated Spiderman series on the market. Its a delightful book with plenty of trivia about the series. There are some great colour photographs from each show and odds and ends like original artist designs, storyboards and memo's. I'm definitely going to pick up the other books in this series. Highly recommended!
