It works
I installed the HC44 on my home cold water pipe where it enters the hot water heater. I’ve had it on there for almost 10 years. I have noticed that the hard scale does not build up as much as it normally would have. You still have a little happening over a long period but not as much as it would have been. A lot less than before when it completely clogged my hot water heater with scale buildup. It’s not a perfect solution but for me it did work, just not a 100%. If the unit is cheap enough I would recommend it. You should also start with a clean slate, I cleaned the scale out of the water heater and off of the shower and faucet heads. Then I installed the unit.

Not worth the money
After months of researching for a "painless" hard water treament, I decided to go with this product. The advertising looks very attractive. After installed it for a few months, I did not see the different, I called the company and they told me I had to wait for at least six months to see the result. I bought the product in April 2010. It has been over two years, I must say the improvement may be 10, 15% reduce of calcium deposit. I still have to clean spots around my faucet constantly. No it does not really work. It's not worth the money.

Awesome Product! Defiantly decreased my calcium build up! After having it for 1 year. Can see less calcium build up around my faucets aerator for sure! Would defiantly recommend this product!

Total Ripoff
I bought one of the HC44 units, and wish I had read the reviewer prior.After 9 months now, I see no change in the limescale buildup, nor is the water any softer and I am cleaning the shower head, glass etc as much as ever.A total waste of money!!

Should have gone with Water Genie Water Conditioner
This is old technology. The Water Genie uses Radio Frequency and Direct Coupling through a computerized system intensifying the activity on the water molecule thousands time more than this product and it does work.

This unit is so simple and easy to install
This unit is so simple and easy to install, and is truly amazing what it can do!! Just clamp it on the pipe and plug it in!I moved into a 10-year-old house that had an extremely hard water supply and never had a water softener. The water heater was packed full of sediment and shot, the plumbing fixtures were caked in limescale build-up, and the dishwasher left massive amounts of residue on the "Clean" dishes.I purchased this unit with the intent to DESCALE the plumbing, which it did perfectly. It does NOT take minerals out of the water, but it saved my plumbing and appliances. 6 months later when I installed the house's first water softener, I had to cut into the pipes, and to my amazement, they were completely scale-free!
