Great for a specific circumstance
When I started looking for an HDMI extender to make playing my Xbox One on an additional television, I immediately became overwhelmed with options. Here are the basic divides among these devices assuming you are not looking at a wireless extender.General decisions include:1. Direct ethernet connection or connection through a network router or switch2. 4k or 1080p resolution and, within these, the refresh frequency.3. Compatibility with Cat 5, 5e, 6, or 7 (or some subset of these) ethernet cables.4. Remote control through the device or none.5. HDMI loop out on the transmitter or none.6. Sound quality (i.e. stereo vs surround sound)7. Each component powered or powered by the transmitter alone.8. One input to one, two, or many outputs.9. Length of wire to be used.10. Lag or no lag (related to whether the data is compressed or not).Prices for these ethernet cable based HDMI extenders vary from well under $100 to well over $500 and several different technologies are used. I point all of this out because you have to really know what you intend to do before making your choices. Otherwise, you will be disappointed or may spend more than necessary.Because I wanted to use my Xbox with this setup, the first consideration is that there be no lag. You can't fight bad guys if there is lag. If you are only watching TV or streaming, then lag is not an issue for you. I found that the descriptions on the various product pages were not always clear. The one thing I often found is that if there was no lag, you'd see it in the description. If there is lag, you will not see any mention or you will have to dig deep in the information to find it. In general, any of the devices that will work through your router or network switches WILL have lag where those that are "point to point" usually have none. Data compression and decompression is the main reason for the lag. After lag, I needed to be sure that my existing house wiring (10 year old Cat 5) would work. This meant that, though my televisions are 4k, I'd likely have to settle for 1080p. Most of the devices that support 4k are specific to say you need Cat 6 or Cat 7.The third consideration was an HDMI loop (i.e. an HDMI output on the transmitter) so I could continue to connect my Xbox to the television in the room with the Xbox.Beyond these considerations, I did not really care about the others on the list above...except for price. This kit meets all of my criteria. In fact, given that it will send to two different televisions and has two local HDMI outputs, it exceeds what I currently need. Note that this particular kit is sold under the AAO brand, but there are other identical ones sold under different brands. So, now that I know it meets the requirements...how does it work? Well, so far, it's flawless. Picture and sound are both just as good and just as fast (lagless) as the main television I play on. I don't know exactly how long my cable run is, but it's probably about 100 feet as it's not a direct path and, as I mentioned, it's old Cat 5 cable. I also ran a second ethernet cable across a room to a monitor and find that I can see the image on all three displays without any issues. As for the list of things I mentioned above, this kit is:1. Direct connect--no router or network switch can be used.2. 1080p @60hz.3. Works with any ethernet cable type (from my experience).4. Has NO provision for remote control.5. Has 2 HDMI loop outs on the transmitter.6. Sound quality is good. Can't say it's surround because I don't have that setup in my other room.7. Only power required is to the transmitter. The receivers are powered through the ethernet cable.8. Has one input that goes to two other devices through ethernet as well as the aforementioned two HDMI outs. So, technically, you can display on two local televisions and two remote televisions.9. Per description, will transmit up to 165 feet. I believe this is the combined length of the ethernet and HDMI cables for each of the two remote connections.10. As stated, there is zero lag. It's completely real time.Note that this kit comes with just the transmitter, two receivers, and the power connector only. There are no ethernet cables or HDMI cables included. Given the price and the fact that most people have cables lying about, this is probably not a big deal. If you don't have these, you will need two of each (assuming you already connect to your primary TV by HDMI now). All in all, I think this is a great deal and, for my uses, is perfect. I'll update this review as I use it more.Additional noteThe manual that is supplied with the kit is small...wallet-sized in fact. The info in it is minimal but helpful and there is nothing to setting up the devices. However, I find the warranty contained in the manual to be especially humorous and will quote it here verbatim:"The warranty time is one year and life long maintenance. During this period, any belongs to normal usage circumstance cause because of the product quality's problem of breakdown, our company will be responsible for giving free maintain."

Easy setup and worked great!!!
We were doing a Saturday Night prayer and worship at a Church downtown and needed to run an hdmi cable over 100 feet. Used this cat 5 adapter and splitter to run video to a monitor on stage and on in the back of the room for the singers. Also run signal to a third monitor on the control room desk to see what was going on the other screens Works great!!!

This device has been indispensable!
I use this device to give us three video monitors on an NVR security camera system that has only one HDMI output. It was very easy to install and setup, and works very well. Running the ethernet cables was truly the hardest part since they are in the attic. Customer service and warranty support has been great, very prompt and responsive.

Great product when used with the right wires
I used this is our church to run (2) 75" LED TV screens on the front wall and (1) screen on the back wall. We used 100' ethernet cords that were not shielded, and we had problems with the displays flickering. Once we changed the ethernet cords to shielded cables we have had no issues with flickering or delays. The product description should have stated to use shielded cables as it would have saved time and money. We run the screen in the back with a 35' HDMI cable and we have no problems with that as well. I would highly recommend this product when used with the right cables. Over a year later now and still works perfectly. Very happy with this product and would definitely recommend this to others

Did not work!
Really wanted this to work & for the price was really expecting it to work well with a 40 foot cat6 ethernet cable. After trying multiple HDMI cables & both of the included etgernet to HDMI extender modules it didnt work.It would ether drop in resolution(go from 1080p to 720p) or keep cutting off my display or just not display at all. Really wanted it to work & liked the idea of using cat6 ethernet to exdend HDMI display but it would simply not work the way I wanted it to. May eventually try a different type or brand but this one ain't it.
