This is a neat little device that works great in a car with a speaker jack but no bluetooth capability. Our car doesn't have bluetooth and we love to listen to audiobooks since we commute a lot. This little device is just the ticket. It's very small and almost invisible. We like that so you don't have to unplug it all the time when you get out of your car in fear someone will break in. It does last several hours without recharging and any micro-USB charger will work. We've had no problems with sound quality or dropping out. We'd recommend this with no hesitation.

I had this device for a few weeks now and I love it! I use it for my car's audio port to make everything Bluetooth and I'm able to connect my galaxy note 4 to play music or make calls. The sound quality is good too and I can blast my music without any static. The battery seems to last long to. I only charge it a few minutes a day and it has yet to die on me when I'm playing music.

This is a first class product. I have now used it with several portable receivers and it works flawlessly. Don't hesitate to invest in it. Saves replacing receivers!

Device is making noticeable static noise which makes it useless. Tried on multiple devices: iPhone, MacBook, iPad, PC USB BT transmitter.

This is an amazing Bluetooth receiver adapter. I've owned a few others including a very expensive home sized BT receiver and this little LAYEN absolutely beats them all in every way. The functionality is simple and it performs flawlessly as advertised. The sound quality is great and the range is better than anything else I've tried. It will also work while its permanently plugged in and charging. The only thing to note is that while charging there is some noise (sounds like buzzing and clicking) that is at least quiet and sometimes can be audible depending on the source volume if its plugged into a switching power supply, example: computer USB, Wall-wart USB charger. But this is not a huge problem in my experience so far, plus if you use it as intended and charge the device and then use it there is no noise.It is just a bonus that you can use it while its charging! I should also note I have only tested this with Bluetooth 3.0. I will have a new phone with 4.0 and aptx in the next couple of months to try with this.Some more detailed tech info about the noise and switching power supplies and how to get around this issue if anyone is interested:I tested this using 2 computers with different power supplies, a Seasonic Fanless Platinum and a Thermaltake Gold. Both of these produced the most noticeable noise while using the BT receiver while it was charging through the USB. Most modern power supplies are switching, they are light weight and very efficient but switching power supplies produce a lot of ripple and electronic noise. This can really play havoc on any bluetooth device and other audio devices. I also tested with a wall-wart USB charger and had a different noise but it was generally the same experience.You can get around the noise problem by using a linear power supply. I used a linear DC 5v power supply and the noise was gone. Also in my car using the 12v accessory socket and a USB charger plugged into the socket that runs off of a 5v regulator technology works. Also if you can find any USB chargers using the L7805/LM7805 5v regulator, this should be linear. ***Note for the non-tech people, the L7805/LM7805 is the regulator only, it is only one part of the electronic circuit, All I'm saying is that if this is known to be part of the USB charging device your buying it should be linear.***This is only a problem while charging but it is a minor one that may not bother all people and this is not LAYEN's fault. All Bluetooth adapters create this type of faint noise if they are running on a switching power supply in my experience.

This works great. If you forget and leave it on, it turns off 5 minutes after your phone (or whatever) is disconnected. The audio quality is amazing. I used NFC to pair it and it worked right away. Awesome product for older cars and stereo receivers without Bluetooth functionality. Had it for over a year. Also I don't have to charge it very often and considering its left in my car during the heat of summer and the cold of winter, I find it very impressive. I guess if the battery were to diminish I could hook it up to a charger in the car to keep it on all the time but I have had no problems yet. Totally forgot to reivew, just remembered now as I am reviewing other purchases.

Simple to set up and works very well. Arrived on time. I'm very happy with it.The item is very high tech, but there is no case to protect it from damage between uses. Also, the online manual is incomplete, so guard the printed version that comes in the package.

Great device. When I got it, I charged it with the included USB cable and plugged it into my speaker. Blue Tooth connected right away and it plays excellent sound with a long charge life. Love it and highly recommend it and you don't need to be a tech geek to use it. Very user friendly!!

It doesn't work consistently

Used this for a non-wifi application on my B&W Z2, works seamlessly and the rechargeable battery lasts as long as advertised.

Love this product! It was easy to pair with my smart phone. I had music playing from my outdated dock in minutes!

Great, but no left/right separation, not true stereo.

The Layen AudioStream provides great sound quality for the car! It solves the problem of having loose cables in the front seats.
