Janet Jackson...I wanna rock with you!
What a great album from Janet Jackson. I am a huge fan and have been since I bought her control album when I was at school and fell in love with her style, image, voice, music.....you get the drift. Don't get me wrong, as much as I love this artist, there have been a couple of times where I thought things could have been done better (Damita Jo and some of 20 Y.O) although saying that All Nite (Don't Stop) has to be my favorite Janet track out of them all! The reason I say this is because I am not some blinkered person who will say things are brilliant just to say I am her no. 1 fan. This body of work is her best for quite some time and I had a feeling it would be pretty good when I realised that Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis would have a big impact on the project. When the three of these great friends get together, it just works and I suspect, quite seamlessly. They know her and what she's about and this will always ring true. I also appreciate the fact that she is one of those truly great celebrities that does not over expose themselves to try and stay relevant. Very private, goes about her business in her own way. Also so glad that Janet did not feel the need to pander to what passes as trendy up to date music and has followed her heart and head. After all, she has nothing to prove to anyone as far as I'm concerned. Good work Ms Jackson!

Definetely one of her best
Janet, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis create a masterpiece. There is a sound for everyone here. I would say this album is a cross between Rhythm Nation, The Velvet Rope with a splash of Damita Jo/All For You.Janet really seems like she is in a good place. This is the most stirring, honest, spiritual, though-provoking she has been in a long time.Personal favourites for me (so far) are The Great Forever, Dream Maker, Lessons Learned, Black Eagle but I can honestly say I don't dislike ANYTHING on this CD, something I'm rarely able to do with any album. There is only one interlude and a distinct lack of "babymakers", which is refreshing. So much to talk about...please Janet, lets keep this conversation going. This really has been worth the wait.

Worth your money, this album has heart and plenty of soul. Only gonna list a couple of my favourite tracks. No Sleep - I did not take to this track at first when she released it, I found it to be a grower but now I enjoy it.Unbreakable - This is a great track with great meaning2 B Loved - Great track, I just love it.Burn it Up - Great club banger and some amazing mixes out there.Night - 'I Woke up in heaven in the morning' is now my alarm in the morning - that's all I say for this :)Finally Black Eagle - Deep lyrics and just amazingly written, a great trackSo yes this is a 5 star review.

THE ultimate album of this Century, bar none.
Janet, Miss Jackson's return to the album fray - her first since 2008's patchy Discipline - is a mighty return to form. Not only teaming up with dream collaborators Jam & Lewis, the album's themes and mood are reflective of the language of both Rhythm Nation 1814 and The Velvet Rope, yet deliver something fresh, edgy and down-right funky. Not 1 duff track, the album takes us on a journey of Janet's life in recent years - decrying nay sayers of her marriage, mourning and celebrating her beloved brother Michael's passing and addressing real-world issues - but with funk, melody and irreverent f-you lyrics. The album is classic Janet and no self-respecting music fan should not be without a copy

Must have album!
A must have album mixing contemporary R&B with a number of dance floor club bangers. The album has a nostalgic theme, reflecting on some of Jacksons previous work. The album will take you back to 93's Janet. album and 97's Velvet Rope with a few tracks that will get you up dancing much like many of the tracks from the All For You album. It's lyrical content throughout has many messages similar to 89's Rhythm Nation. A mature album which is quite refreshing in an industry dominated by meaningless lyrical pop and dance. Janet's vocals are wrapped up with lush backing tracks setting a new standard.

I hope this album is not ignored by radio as it contains some excellent songs. If "No Sleep" had been released by a new, or one of the younger established artists it would have been a huge hit. "Burn it up" with Missy Elliot is the most obvious "hit", but better tracks are the soul of "After you fall", and the atmospheric "Shoulda known better". On side 2 four tracks - "Promise" "Lessons learned" "Black Eagle" & "Well travelled" justify the price of the album alone.Standout track - "Lessons Learnt" - this may be the best recording of her career.

nice album but only some songs memorable
listening to Discipine - this album lacks the quality of tunes you can remember - many of the songs are not that memorable and I agree with the guy about the mixing of the album - it gets lost - there are some songs with great meaning and overall the songs are ok - I played it a lot but still it lacks the imagination of discipline or even velvet rope - I can sing you many of the songs from both those albums without much effort but this album I cannot - I like it but it will not be in the top 5 of my favourite Janet albums - Janet - control - Rhythm nation - velvet rope and discipline are there.

Janet's new effort a love letter to fans!
Janet's return after a long absence provides fans with a set of music that they have been longing for during her 7 year absence. Unbreakable is a consistent cd with songs that give us a taste of what makes Janet such an appealing artist and ties the songs together with a feeling of optimism and hope. The songs range from No Sleeep, the first single, which reminds us of the That's the Way Love Goes era and has become her longest running #1 song on the R & B charts. She's followed it with BURNITUP!, a song that has Missy Elliot introducing Janet as the one who "wears the crown". Indeed, Jackson put a lot of heart and soul into this cd and the end result is a love letter to her fans. Any fan, such as myself, can't help but feel the joy Janet sends to those who have supported her music and tours over the years and I believe this was her intention. Other songs on the cd included the title track, an optimistic song that, along with The Great Forever, seems to give a nod to the sound of her big brother, the King of Pop. She slows the cd down for Shoulda Know Better, After You Fall and Lessons Learned, all good songs that reveal that, as we all know, Janet is not just the Queen of the dance floor. While these songs dwell on problems that can arise in life, the still look to the positive. After You Fall is a great example in which she asks "who will be there after you fall?" and she answers at the end of the song, "I will." To give us those much needed dance tunes, she cranks it up with BURNITUP!, Night and Broken Hearts Heal. This cd is not a comeback, at least not to me. As she says in BURNITUP!, 'quit lookin brand new, I've been right here." Janet hasn't gone anywhere and she proves it with this cd. Whether or not she gets radio airplay with for this cd, this set is one of the best she's had in her career. Also, I was fortunate to see her Unbreakable Tour here in Nashville in late September. Janet, as always, knows how to put on a show and gave the excited crowd a non-stop performance of all her hits, including some that you might not think she would do such as The Best Things in Life are Free (a duet she had with Luther Vandross) and Scream (her duet with Michael). There wasn't as many props and big set changes as her previous tours but in many ways this tour is better. Its a great run through all those songs you love and introduces you to the great new offerings from her new cd.Pick up her cd....you will not be disappointed. And when she comes to down, go to the show and I dare you not to sing along.....and dance!

FINALLY!
