Easy Installation
Best mailbox ever. Very well made, tough, sturdy. Love the fact that it can hold a lot of mail and small packages and not easy to break into. Should last many years.

Stylish and extremely secure
I bought a plan on Etsy for my new mailbox support. The plans specifically called for this mailbox model, so I didn’t do much research before I ordered it. Very pleased with the large size, sturdiness, security features and style. I’ll stain the wood in the spring to match my window shutters and porch columns. Would definitely buy again!

Solid and safe
It protects my mail from the casual thief. Rear entry door lets me retrieve mail without nearing the roadway.

Heavy, sturdy, big upgrade from plastic one
Woke up on a Monday morning to the discovery that someone ran over the mailbox in the night. After searching through many options, I decided to order the Mail Boss mailbox. Really wanted to build some massive, mean dent the crap out of your car concrete encasement, but opted to do a double post boxed in with wood. Threw the base together in an afternoon, mailbox arrived next day, side numbers arrived yesterday. The box is heavy, was easy to install following the directions, and my first mailbox install ever went very smooth. The front door is small but Mail Boss does make one with a larger drop door for thicker packages. I saw that version after install sadly. I love this box though. It arrived without any damage so everything works. Favorite feature is the rear opening mail retrieval door, so no more turning your back to the street to grab mail. It holds a good volume as well, in case you aren’t able to grab your mail daily. Will add some reflectors and maybe some solar landscape lighting to improve night visibility. Everything is nice and sturdy, solid, and should last for years and years to come. General note to the public… stop speeding in neighborhoods. It is a lot easier to keep control of your vehicle if you aren’t treating residential areas as “quick” cut-throughs to your destination. Damage to your car from a mailbox post/box is bad enough, but it could be a pet, a child, or the elderly next time. Slow down, be alert, be safe.

Excellent, tough and secure mailbox.
I installed the "Mail manager street safe" with the steel post. This box opens only from the back. I feel this provides additional security because a thief would standout if they try to force it open from the back. Also, it's made from more durable steel than a standard mailbox. It will take some handyman skills to dig the hole, then cement and level the post. This would be a good project for the average do it yourself person. Make sure to maintain USPS height standards when placing the post in cement. I recommend using "Kwik-crete" and a couple of large rocks placed in the hole to hold the post in place when pouring the cement. The instructions are easy to follow. Installing the box to the post is simple with just four bolts and nuts. You'll be happy with the way it enhances your curb appeal.

Sturdy, well made and hopefully last a long time.
So far it looks spectacular, I made my own base, didn't need metal post. Just a 4x4 treated some cedar fence pickets and some stain, and clear coat.Of course I used some concrete to hold the post in place. Also it's a really good size, but I was little disappointed cuz you cannot pit a 8x4 box in it. So it can hold a lot of mail but NOT delivery small package will fit through the small open where letters and envelopes drop in.

It's a BRUTE!
Purchased to replace a "security mailbox" from another vendor which was broken into THREE (3) TIMES in the past few years (the last "break-in" was LAST WEEK!).I selected this unit because of the REAR MAIL-RETRIEVAL DOOR (most "security" mailboxes have a FRONT door). if someone wants to "theft" the mail, they have to get out of their vehicle and walk to the rear of the box in "plain sight" of everyone while they try to "jimmy" the box open. The mail insertion door is HAND-INSERTION PROOF - if a thief tries to get the mail via the front door using his hand, the "thefting" hand WILL get "jammed" in the door, if inserted far enough (i.e., a "determined" thief). The construction is of HEFTY steel (it weighs 23 pounds!), the mail retrieval door is fairly thick steel and is "recessed" into the box's rear when closed/locked. There's almost ZERO "gap" around the rear door when it is closed, so it will be very difficult to pry it open with a "lever". The lock is really nice: the "hasp" is a beefy "butterfly" design that has two "contact points" on the inside of the rear panel when it is closed - much better than the standard "single contact" of other "security" boxes. There are a variety of ways to mount the box to a "holder" - just pick the suitable hole pattern in the box's floor to match what you're mounting it to. BE AWARE: you'll want to use a "short nose" power driver to run the bolts/screws down to the mounting surface as a "standard" power driver won't fit too well. Alternately, use a ratchet and appropriate sockets for holding your screwdriver bits. If you use the supplied lag bolts, CAREFULLY mark your bolt locations on the support board/post and, if using a wood post, use the supplied bit to drill your pilot holes. If possible, install LONG (3" or so) #8 wood screws through the smaller mounting holes to reinforce the "anchoring" of the box to the holder. Finally, the supplied plastic "liner" is of MANDATORY use after mounting the box! it covers the heads of the mounting bolts/screws so your mail won't "snag" on them AND makes removing your delivered mail a "snap!". Also, RECORD THE KEY NUMBER ON THE SUPPLIED CARD AND FILE THAT CARD AWAY! if you should lose your keys (three keys are provided!) or they all get "damaged", that number is used to get replacement keys from the manufacturer.IMO, for the asking price, you get a BARGAIN! the box IS NOT "cheaply" made and I believe it can take a lot of "abuse" without compromising its' function.

Solid, secure. Big enough to hold and keep newspapers dry.
Solidly built, comes with bolts and drill bits. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish the package opening were a bit bigger.
