What Are The Real Savings?
My shifter cable came unhooked on my Yukon after nearly 300000 miles. I didn't want the hassle of changing out the cable so I went for the bushing. Pretty straight forward. The toughest part of the project was actually digging out the old bushing from the end of the shifter cable.I was led to this item from an internet search that landed me on a YouTube video of 1:30. My only question is did I save any money over the long haul? I'll be keeping the truck for a while longer and assume the cable will hold up, but this little item, the size of a pencil eraser, cost $30 and an entire new cable is $75.I had made a temporary repair with a couple of zip ties that probably would have lasted for years, but I wanted it done "right" and I didn't want the hassle of tearing into the steering column so I opted for the bushing. So, my only complaint is the value for the money, but the alternative is a full cable and a lot more labor.

Perfect fit
This little piece saved me hundreds of dollars. The piece just fit right in and is very durable and did the job. It got me riding again and out of being stuck in reverse.

Use Black One for 2001 Chevy Tahoe
I watched the install video and decided mine was the green one (which was actually gray in my kit)....turns out I should have used the black one. I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. You must remove the old bushing first. Since mine was not rotted it was easy to pry it out with a small screw driver. Once I did that the black one installed very easily. I have followed the instructions and shifted the vehicle from park to Drive (1) moving the shifter from top to bottom over 100 times just to be sure.It feels a little spongy but it's probably because the bushing is soft plastic. Needless to say, it's still working flawlessly. If you want to save money buy this kit. My mechanic would charge $300+ for a new shifter cable install.Thank you for a great product. It not only works, the install is easy....it will save you money.A++

Great and easy fix shift cable bushing
The media could not be loaded. This worked and it was quick. Street I got it jacked up and secured with Jack stands it took less than an hour, to include time to test drive. I would advise using a dental pick to clean out the crumbly old junk from the mfg.Saved me a good deal of money and glad this part was the same for either end of the cable because I initially thought it was in the console but it was underneath where it has come loose.2014 Cadillac ATS -the life time warranty is nice and I was glad to support a business fairly close to home. Amazon overnight was great as well. Lakeland to Clearwater area.

Terrible .
Tried it on my 03 yukon. It fell off over and over and over. I finally just drilled a hole and put a bolt though it. Never have to worry about the shifter cable coming off now! Dont buy this

excellent
At first I thought the price was kinda high for one little kit. Then I realized It had two different seals in it. on that fit my 2006 silverado and one that fit my 1998 c3500. just so happened I needed one for each and I bought two kits. upon receiving, I discovered I only needed one kit for both and returned the second. installed in seconds and has been going great so far.

Fit 2005 Dodge Durango
One day I went to shift into gear and the shift lever just swung freely. It just slid up and down with no resistance and it didn't change gears. I knew it was bad. I got under the car and saw that the shift arm had come off. There's a little bushing in there that holds it on. That thing had basically disintegrated. I took a chance and ordered this part. So glad I did. After cleaning up the old bits from the shifting arm hoop/eye or hole (whatever it's called) I popped this one in sideways like they suggest and then turn it inside the eye so it lines up with the holes. Then I simply popped the eye back on the attachment point and it held on like it was meant to. That was months ago now (maybe even a year ago), either last summer or the one before (covid time is messing with me). Everything is still working. Highly recommend if you have to replace yours.

Bushing works well with a 1997 Astro
I changed the bushing on my 1997 Astro at the fraction of the cost from the dealer. The bushing is fairly easy to change and YouTube is very helpful as well. The dealer wanted 200$ for a kit and wouldn’t sell me the bushing alone. I was very happy to find this bushing on Amazon. It’s been installed for a few months now and as of now no issues the shifter is working normally!!
