IT'S ALIVE!!!
Thank You THQ, Thank you. Improved Game Play= Rider Leveling now has a point to it and you can feel your rider get better and more comfortable with the bikes. You actually start as a "Weekend Warrior"(HAHA:) "Bang bars" to vie for position, get credit for Hole shots, scrub jumps, much deeper customization for bikes and riders, tighter/better tracks, indicator for riders approaching from the rear and which side they are coming from, bike sounds are vastly improved, music is enjoyable mostly rock/punk feel, much more... A.I.= The intelligence of computer riders in "Reflex" was deplorable, "Alive" has changed all that. No longer will riders go straight off a berm like its a jump just to wipe your ass out. (Who the hell wouldn't even try for a turn?) Also, you can battle back and not just fall when touched by another bike. New Physics for the Riders and Bikes,= The bike no longer feels and looks like it is on an X,Y axis through the middle of the bike and player. The bike "feels" real, like it actually has weight to it, you will have to have your speed up and push hard off the jump to throw the weight of the bike around for a nice whip(No more whipping it every little jump). Balance that with improved "reflex" control and weight distribution of the rider and we have a winner!! Now the bad stuff... While they did get #7 involved with the project, whether just for sponsorship or actual game input also(i don't know if any pro riders had input on game play) it is good to see the MX community getting at least a little back, but this brings my beef... Where are the real TRACKS, BIKES? My rider is wearing "AlpineStars,ANSWR,FOX,TLD",etc. But i can't ride a Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda etc.???.... Oh and you seem to have forgot Ricky C...? I didn't want to add graphics to the negative list but I have to only for the fact that they are not as good as could be (same engine as "reflex") and presented in 720.(Really?) BUT, the graphics have been cleaned up, especially while racing, riders look good their jersey looks wind blown alot more detail but tracks and backgrounds are still way pixilated, just still too blurred for my taste.... Done with the beef. OVERALL GREAT GAME. Supposed to be lots of DLC for personal customization of game. And online experience is being presented as much cleaner then last installment(please, no more "waiting/riding rooms" for 15 min...) Have not experienced online due to PSN outage and I won't take the time to get back on here and tell you about it. Just go buy it so i can whoop your ass when it goes back online. "Challenge him dude".

Great Game Sony Network outage is holding it back!!
I played the Reflex game RELIGOUSLY and I can honestly say that once I unlock all of the tracks & DLC I will play this religously also. The Sony Playstation store being down is really p***ing me off because I cant even redeem the code for Bubba's compound(Or is there a way to access it?)nor purchase any of the bikes that are available. Come on Sony, get the lead out!!At 1st I though this game sucked & if it werent for the warnings from the other reviews I would not have put so much effort in getting the 250F's so far. I guess THC decided to leave out the two stroke 250's because in the real motocross/supercross world they only have the lites (250F) and the 450F's in competition. I miss my RM250, oops I mean takashi 250 two-stroke that was in Reflex. This game is much more realistic in the way the bike handles. Like another reviewer stated Reflex has the "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" effect when hitting jumps. Alive is more realistic. I have read complaints about whips not being as easy and I think its more realistic in the fact that it takes actual effort and the mechanics of the whips and scrubs is more realistic than in Reflex. What I dont like is how you have to keep racing the same tracks over & over & over again to gain levels to access other tracks & bikes. Not that big of a deal though because I will play the hell out of it trying to get better lap times. I also like that they added all of the current MX & SX warhorses as playable riders too. Great addition. Someone asked where is Carmichael, well he doesnt compete anymore... A suggestion would have been that that THC gave the player flexibility to use their own custom music playlist like the developers did in "The Fight". Overall I give this game a thumbs up in the fact that THC did revamp MX vs ATV in a good way & I hope that the developers actually add more tracks as DLC.They could have done a better job on Reflex doing this.

Fun game, but lacks content
If you like off-road racing games, MX vs ATV Alive will be a fun game for you. The graphics are great and the overall racing experience is fun. The game does, however, lack some content that I really wish would've been included. There are customization options for your rider and your vehicle, but there aren't a lot. Before reaching rider level 10, you only have about 4 tracks and 2 freestyle courses to choose from, and these get old, fast. I have found that you can get a lot of XP just by messing around on the freestyle tracks. One cool feature is that you get XP no matter what you're doing. Whether it's a single player MX race, a local or online multi-player race or freestyle, you ALWAYS get XP. This helps with the fact that you have to actually unlock some tracks and additional customization options. The controls are pretty easy, but sometimes the bikes can be hard to control if you get stuck in a rut. (Realism.) I've only noticed one real glitch, and that is when you're jumping if you press the left stick to the left or right, sometimes the bike will move left or right in mid-air. Looks really clunky and shouldn't be possible since you can't actually steer your bike while in mid-air. Overall a fun game, but you will get tired of it fast during the first 10 levels of rider experience.

It's a fun game.
For me, the game is cool. It lacks some of the fun things that Unleashed had, like the freestyle track during loading, but the game itself is good. I would recommend this to a friend. 8/10
