Low contact resistance, but expensive for what you get
Deans Ultra were the original high quality plug, when people got tired of the Molex ones that get so hot after a few connect/disconnect cycles. These and Anderson PowerPoles were the only things out there for a while. PowerPoles are really bulky, but better in every other way. No soldering necessary. These require soldering, and have no way to make a mechanical connection before soldering; you're relying 100% on the solder to keep the connection together, which I don't feel comfortable with, as an electrical engineer. If the solder cracks a little over time, then the connection becomes high-impedance again, and creates heat and sucks up power. These also don't have anything to grip by. The provided heat shrink tubing is not very good for that, as it loosens up over time. What I do is to insulate the connections with hot glue after soldering, which also gives something to grab ahold of when pulling them apart. These days, we have Traxxas connectors, which are just as good, and have some grippable surface. But they too require soldering with no mechanical connection. There are also the EC3 connectors used by E-Flite and others. These are very good; they are shrouded bullet connectors with polarity-keyed housings. But they're expensive too!For me, the bottom line is that I've got so many charge leads and ESC leads and battery packs with Deans that it is hard to switch away from them now. I've already shortened the ESC leads by cutting off the Molex and Traxxas connectors. I can't afford to shorten them again, so I stay with Deans. If I were to start over again, I'd either go EC3 or maybe the yellow brand that ThunderPower uses, and are available on hobbyking for cheaper.Deans needs to evolve a bit, if they want to stay in business long-term.

Easy to Connect, High Quality Build
I bought a Lipo with a Deans connector, so I had to buy some for my escs. I was not disappointed. These connectors are so much easier to connect and disconnect compared to XT30/60 and JST; the connection is not as tight but I way prefer it to the struggle with other connectors. I will be using these of all of my future builds. The pins will not shift when soldering if you put too much heat into them, unlike XT60 connectors.Note these are male connectors. I would get more but the official deans seller does not sell them in larger quantities.

Excellent connectors for R/C or airsoft
Not sure why Amazon has this item listed as a 'toy' - surely it is not. That behind me here's the review:1. Superior connector - the impedence is miniscule and for airsoft, that makes a difference. I was able to convert my batteries and gun to Deans connections with minimal effort.2. You need some skill to do this properly. Experience with soldering is a must! the included shrink wrap tubing was perfect for the task as well. You won't be sorry if you make the move to these connectors. Well made and relatively simple to convert - just ensure you have the soldering skills to make it happen.

fair for the price
its kind of hard to ruin the quality of a couple connectors and heat shinks but the heat shrinks should be a little longer in my opinion. overall good quality.

Get your Lipo connected!
I upgraded my Hobbyzone Super Cub to lipo and needed the correct connectors. These worked great! I soldered them on and they work great!!

Simple Solution
I have loved these for years, and this purchase was the same high quality I've gotten from Deans for years. Best soldered with a hot iron that's big enough for the job. Smaller irons just don't provide enough heat. As always, tin both parts first.

Best connectors you can get
Best connectors you can get, have been using them for years. Be sure to get real Deans and not the knock off version, they're OK but for high current applications stick with the genuine Deans connectors.
