Watercolors Daley-
Great watercolors. They have great color. They mix very well thin or dark, easy to use. Good quality. Good value for the money.

Good quality watercolors with vivid color
Good quality watercolors with vivid color, and while Daler Rowney Aquafine is the brand name, I just compared them to a 24 pan of Hobby Lobby Brand and the Hobby Lobby had a little more vividness to the color, and twice the pan size of the watercolor. If on a budget, they're quite a bit less money, twice the product, and might be better colors anyway. See what you think.

A rich and intense pigment.
The Aquafine paints (i.e. Daler-Rowney) are a rich and intense pigment. I prefer the tubes for in-studio work, but find the 24-color Aquafine/Daler-Rowney pperfect for color sketching and preliminary watercolors.

Nice little travel set
I purchased this as much as anything, out of nostalgia. I took a class at RISD when I was in college and the professor specified that we get Winsor Newton or Rowney paints. After trying a number of off brand watercolors this year, I got a small set from each of those brands, yearning for pigmenmt (as opposed to dye). I did not get the kind of breakup I expect from pigment in this set, but the colors are intense and there is a nice range. My five star rating is for how excellently designed this is as a travel set. There is even a ring on the back to make it easy to hold one handed. It has a small palette for mixing and a tiny but very good quality brush. It is as nice a travel set as I have seen, and very well priced too.

Love these paints!
Easy to use and paints marked well. The size is perfect for traveling or just doodling at night while watching TV. The brush is fair but ok for traveling. Still will pack another brush, which is no big deal. I love this size - the size of the palm of my hand. Truly thrilled with this product!

little set with good variety of colors, but poor lightfastness, bad mixing area
The set itself comes in a little tin which is why i wanted it at first. I like the number of colors and the water colors themselves work pretty well on good paper and are very vibrant. They do end up chalky on poorer paper. However, the worst parts are the little plastic mixing places, the lid, and the light fastness. I haven't personally tested the lightfastness, but someone else did with multiple brands and the Daler-Rowney was the worst. They faded terribly. You can remove the little plastic mixing spots, but i can stand to use them, the watercolors just pool(?) like water droplets, and the pots are so deep,,, its just annoying, i use the lid more often than not (although little improvement with the pooling). the tin is very thin and flimsy. my lid is so dented.overall, if you want a cheap convenient set with some very vibrant colors and variety, this is pretty good. I can guarantee you can find something better though for the same price point or only a little more.

I am very pleased with this watercolor set
I am very pleased with this watercolor set. It has 24 beautiful colors, that are labelled, and the metal box is thin, small and flat, so it is very easy to slip into a small bag with a sketchbook. I have several other portable watercolor boxes, but my other Daler Rowney box is large and heavy, with no label on the colors. My much-used and otherwise fantastic Windsor Newton box has a small water bottle and brush, but only 12 colors. So this new watercolor box is perfect for traveling and gives you a wide variety of colors to choose from, in a very small packet. Perfect!, ..
