Frogs Tung Retractable Safety Tether Compatable with iPhone, Galaxy, Smartphone, Tablet, Mobile Device and Cell Phone

This was exactly what we wanted. The cord does not retract until you push the button, so my husband can stay attached to it while setting it on a table or desk. Additional information: We still love this device, but it is unfortunately a bit fragile. We've replaced it several times now. It is still a great item, but I wish it were more heavy-duty.

Husband wore this for trip abroad. At one point, someone with a backpack walked past my husband, who had placed the cellphone in his shirt pocket for easier access to take quick pictures at a Roman ruin. Backpack caught the cord attached to the cellphone and ripped the cord off. Now this product is useless. This device needs a much sturdier/stronger cord that can't be so easily broken off cellphone at point of attachment. Our situation was just a backpack. Imagine if a pickpocket wanted to grab the cellphone and take off. Product did not perform as advertised.

I like some parts of this, but overall my main issue was the part never stuck right, fell off and made phone awkward esp for charger bases.

This is our second Frog's Tung product. I bought the first one for a trip to Disney World. My husband loses or drowns cell phones on vacation. I insisted on this and he complained UNTIL he discovered his cell phone dangling by the Frog's Tung after a ride on the Rockin' Rollercoaster. I would give 5 stars except the little retractor broke. I don't think my husband was particularly hard on it so I think it might need to be made a little tougher. Having said that it's a great product and did what it needed to do. The broken retractor didn't stop it from saving his phone. We will always take one on vacation from here forward.

I'm a true believer in this product. As a tournament kayak angler, the Frog's Tung Leash has saved my phone countless time while on the water. The kayak tournaments are different than most due the the way our fish are scored. We use a CPR (Catch, Photo, & Release) system for conservation reasons. Throughout a tournament we are constantly taking pictures with our phones and uploading them into an application that scores the fish. This is sometimes difficult trying to get a fish to lay still enough for the correct angle on the measuring board, and often times I have dropped my phone while doing so. The Frog's Tung Retractable Cell Phone Leash has prevented my phone from landing in the water and contributed to my success on the water. On March 25th, 2018, I became the 2018 Kayak Bass Fishing National Champion, and the winner of the largest payout in the history of our sport with a 1st prize of $100,000. I believe to achieve such a feat it takes focus and concentration on the task at hand, and the piece of mind knowing I didn't have to worry about loosing my phone on the water played a huge part in my win. Sorry, FT, but I really needed this to work. Like several other reviews, I experienced the non-retracting of the last few inches issue after about 2 months of use. I carry a Sony personal dictation device on my person at all times and this was intended to keep me from dropping one in the toilet. I finally did that after over 15 years of carrying one propped just inside the hem of my pants under the belt. I got distracted one morning when I was hitting the john and PLOP!!! Not cool! So I went to Walmart and bought a couple of retractable key devices... one of them the heavy duty school janitor version (really too much for this job) and another kind of cheap one that wasn't really appropriate either. This device seemed to be a good solution. I bought one despite some of the negative reviews and it proved to be a disappointment in the end, sadly. I give it two stars because at least it was a great concept that worked well WHILE it was working. So I continued to use it after it stopped retracting completely because it still did the job of keeping me from dropping the recorder. But one day, I disconnected the recorder from the retractor and the plastic clip on the retractor broke on one side! You can't easily replace that clip because it's integrated into the device via a plastic knob. I was at a live music gig when it broke, at the worst possible time. Dejected, I tossed the device into a urinal, took a leak on it, then took a picture, which fortunately for you I can't find right now!

Works exactly as advertised, well made item. My husband uses it to keep his cell phone safe while gardening, and it works perfectly for him.

My husband is famous for laying his phone down and forgetting it in stores, etc. He laid it on his truck and drove off. It was then run over and demolished beyond recognition. This device keeps his phone on him at all times that he is out of bed and not in the shower. No more retrievals from stores, etc.

Seemed fine at first but on day 3 it wouldn't retract - tried everything - nothing worked - eventually gave a good tug and thread snapped - would NOT recommend
